Incase some of you didn't know, there will be an Autox held next Saturday August 2nd at Qualcomm Stadium.

There will be no pre-registration for this event - all registrations will be handled the morning of the event.

Gates will open at 6:30; tech and registration will open at 7:00. Tech will close at 8:20 and no cars will be inspected or allowed to register after this time. There is a mandatory driver's meeting at 8:30 and the course opens at 9:00. The entry fee is $40.00 and the number of entries will be limited to 80. There is a noise restriction of 92dB in effect, anyone exceeding this will either need to reduce the noise level or will be asked not to run. A complete event schedule will be given to you at the gate upon arrival. Bring fluids to drink during the day. Lunch will be provided to event participants. When not on the course, the speed limit within the stadium is 15 mph which will be strictly enforced. There will be no warming of tires or brakes allowed when not on the autocross course.

This event is for BMW CCA members, with preference given to current card holders. There may be spaces available for non-members who wish to join, but space will be limited. The cost for 1 year's membership is $35.00.

Classifications: Stock class may run any size wheel, any brand of shock absorber, any air filter or cat-back exhaust system. Any other modification, including, but not limited to, springs, "R" compound tires, and engine management chips will be considered modified. We use the honor system, please class your car accordingly.

A: 4 cylinder stock MS: All ///M cars, stock
B: 4 cylinder modified MM: All ///M cars, modified
C: 6/8/12 cylinder stock N: Novice (1st or 2nd event only)

I love that stuff

its the only place where you can actually drive like you want to all the time

if you think you are good, just wait till you see the instructors

it is fun for just watching and taking pictures too

Soheilm3 - I believe that chip and springs puts you into the modified category. Although if it is your first autox you are automatically put into novice. As far as the instructor goes, you won't be allowed to drive alone until you have an instructor drive your car once and you drive once with him in the car. You can obviously have him drive or ride as many times as you want, but that is just the minimum.

MMJ4mil - An intake does not make you modified. You would run in six stock. Although its your first autox so youre novice too. I believe that you can sign up that day, but I'm not 100% positive on that one.

Carl - I have a video camera too, can you handle that? :D

Just a reminder to everyone wanting to race, youre going to need a helmet. If you don't have one you can rent one for $10. Also I would highly recommend that you get there very early so you can actually race. Last time I got there at 6:40 and was #62! So I'm going to be sure to be there super early. See you guys there.

I always thought the whole point was to tear the last bit of tire off your wheels at the autox

This is a BMWCCA event. I think that there is an SCCA autox on Sunday. I believe Lon (Bugzy) is going to that one.
