I'm trying to ge together as many people for a last minute meet in S.D. this weekend.

Someone has suggested the whirlwind in Ramona "Lime Rock of the west". I don't know the road but it sounds very promising.
If you are interested PM me asap. I will post the exact time and day as soon as I know.

All are welcome from near and far.

I tried to set a link but it won't work. You can check out the tread on M3forum.

Looks like only a couple of people are on board so far. As long as I can get the handle on the exact location I will even go alone to recon the road and amenities. Some people have indicated that next weekend is better for them. If you are in this group then post or PM and i'll set up something for next weekend too.

O.K. people, here is the plan so far.

Start in Escondido (exact location TBA)-78 to Julian. Stop for that famous Julian apple pie. Head back east to Santa Ysabel then north on 79. Mesa Grande rd to 76, then up to Palomar mountain.
Then we head off to Pala. Most likely end point is the casino at Pala. I hear they have a pretty good buffet.
Total run will be 100+ miles of twisties.

Start time will be between 11-1 on the 9th. Exact time to follow

This will be a test run for a (I hope) larger run to follow.

I wish I had exact start point with all in between stops planned but it is the first run for me. Promise to have the next one better organized with more lead time.

Start point will be by Nordstrom's at north county fair.
I'm trying to move the start time up to about 9 A.M. so we can stop at the go karting track in Pauma Valley. Might start the next ride at the track before hitting the canyons.

I'm getting the hang of this. Thanks for those who have helped with their ideas. Sorry if I don't give individual credit. If everyone is up for it we can make it a complete loop and do runs on the Whirlwind if we start earlier and skip dinner at pala. There is plenty of places to eat near the mall and a nice large parking lot for us to use.

Things are shaping up. More to follow.

I'm game for next week too, if we can get some people signed up. I just started this as a last minute ride to get familiar with good spots to ride.
We'll probably set up a monthly ride, with some route variations. I'll keep everyone posted.

For those of you that work on weekends. I can set one up for Fridays too if I get enough requests. Plus the go karting track will not be so crowded on Fridays. Just let me know.

Keep me informed on the follow up run to this, I won't be able to make it to cali this weekend but I've got some weeks coming up that I want to broaden my horizons and meet some cali drivers

I have been informed that there are 2 parking lots by Nordstorms.
The upper and the lower. So to prevent any confusion, please make sure you are in the lot in which you can see the Macaroni Grill (I believe the lower lot).

Start time will be at 10 A.M. So we should meet at 9:30 to become acquainted and discuss the route and stop points.

Thanks to all of you that have posted and PM me. It will be a lot of fun, and surprisingly, will be well attended on such short notice.

I dont know if you guys are planning to speed through there, so if you are you have got to go earlier than 11 more like 8 or it will be infested by sharks(COPS). I know that are really well.

I know :ben:
but I'm not sure if everyone is up for such an early meet.

Edit: Maybe next time.
