:dunno: :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Ive been dissatisfied with the stock system in my 325i (non-HK) pretty much since day1. Anyway, to make a long story short, my brother worked for circuit city and I had to make a hasty decision to purchase all the parts i needed with his employee discount because he decided he wanted to quit before the store got real busy for the Christmas season. Here's what i purchased

5.25 Infinity Kappa Perfect components
Alpine MRV-F340 4/3/2 channel amp -to power components
Alpine MRV-T320 2 channel amp -to power stealthboxes
monster cable
rca cables
typhoon amp wiring kit
(still need to buy JL stealthboxes)

For now I want to keep the stock head unit so that i dont lose the steering wheel controls, and I still need to purchase the JL stealthboxes- probably from the shop that will be installing all this crap. I dont know sh*t about sh*t when it comes to car audio, so I have a few questions so that I dont get ripped off too bad when I go take it to a shop, so can you guys help me out with the following questions:

1)What else do I need for the install? My friend was saying i might need to purchase hi/lo converter (wtf is that?!) but my amps might be able to accomodate my stock head unit.

2)I originally got a mono amp to power the stealthboxes, but a friend said i need to get a 2 channel amp to power the stealthboxes if I want the balance control to work on the stealthboxes. Is this correct?

3)how much should installing all this cost me? Anyone reccoment a good shop in Orange county? (I was considering pacific audio & alarm in fullerton.)

I actually a bit hesitant about installing an aftermarket system because of the warranty issue. Ive already had to replace 2 of my regulators on my doors and ive read on quite a few threads about people having 5+ regulators replaced. Will BMW not honor the warranty if I have a aftermarket installed? Im afraid of my windows or some other part giving out just before my 50k warranty goes out, or that I get the aftermarket system installed, and the dealer gives me this BS story about how the install I did screwed up the car and they wont honor the warranty claim.

Also, im thinking of getting the bluetooth phone system installed. Has anyone been successful in installing this with a aftermarket system in their car?

Thanks for reading through the lenghty post. Thanks in advance for your help.

1) A hi/low converter converts the output of the wires to rca outputs in order for you to install an addition amp to power your JL steathboxes. Note: You might want to hear how a JL stealthbox sounds like first. Not everyone likes it.

2) I personally think a mono amp is ok. Why would you need to balance control your subs anyways. ALL IT DOES IS PLAY BASS!!!! Having bass on the left or the right doesn't really matter. HAHA.

3) Personally, if you can put a computer together, you definitely can install this all on your own. It's not a big deal and you can save that money and use it for other things.

Aftermarket system has nothing to do with your window regulators. If they give you sh!t, then give them sh!t. Those are two separate systems and have nothing to do with each other. Don't worry about it. Just go to another dealer if the first one gives you trouble.

Most places dont carry JL stealthboxes. They have to be ordered by the dealer, unless you have another suggestion....
