Question-- For those that have kits painted and installed or anyone that has part or all of their car painted....

I know in my brand new Noah Car Cover it says do not cover a car that has been painted for a minimum of 6 months.

If you have fresh paint on your car, is it true you can't WAX it for like 6 months?! Anyone heard of this?:dunno: :dunno:

I have....not six months, but about 2-3 weeks. My friend got his old 325i painted and I asked him why he hadnt waxed it. They told him to wait 2 weeks first. I guess the rubbing of the wax/buffing it off or the cover could damage new paint :dunno:

I would say just ask around, and if worse comes to worse, just go w/ what they say and clay/wax it when you can.

I think there is a waiting time for the paint to fully cure. Kinda like getting your windows tinted and they tell you to not roll your windows down for a week or two.

it takes a new paint job takes 2+ weeks to cure on warm days in the sun (70F+) 6 months is a bit excessive for what you're looking to get out of your paint job... By this i mean truely amazing paint jobs that require wet sanding an multilple coats of bases and clears DO need that long before being wet sanded and buffed.

NOAH is smart in putting that warning on so they can't be responsible for screwing up a fresh coat of paint.

wait your 2 weeks and wax away.

The best thing is to ask your body shop. The time that new paint needs to "breathe" depends on the paint itself. They'll know how long to wait. Glasurit takes 6 weeks, I believe.

When i had my prev. car painted, they told me not to wax for 4-6 weeks. I couldn't help it and put a coat of zaino on 3 weeks after the repaint. Had no problems.

Hi I am an autherized DUPONT,SHERWIN WILLAMS AND MATRIX DIST
You should wait at least 72 hrs. if your in 75 or warmmmmer :) Anyone else should be about two weeks till full curing, all that would happen is deeper swirl marks and we all hate those. SO WAIT the longer you wait the better.

You can wash it with car wash soap. Just remember to use a car wash soap and only wash a cool surface. Also, do not use a circular motion (use bumper to bumper strokes) Try to dry with an electric leaf blower and blot dry the remaining water.

With it being winter (in most areas :pimpin: ) you should definitely wait at least 60 days before you actually dive in. I know it will be frustrating but you will thank yourself in the end.

Good luck

Don't forget to use luke warm water and car wash soap with a very soft cloth.
Or you can do my alltime favorite way DRIVE TILL DRY
