I have a 2003 M3 and I am looking at picking up some swaybars so my question, as stated above, Are swaybars model specific? Do I have to buy a E46 M3 specific swaybar? Or will any E46 swaybar work?

Standard E46 sway bars are not model specific (323, 328, 325, 330) but the added weight of the cast iron block and different rear diff setup means that E46 M3 bars are bigger and of different shape for the rear.

So in a word, yes.

I/CI are the same for all suspension parts. XI rear springs/shocks are the same, and possibly the rear sway bar, but the fronts are totally different.
