Ok guys what's up. Well i had my tints done but i really do'nt like them. I have it in the rear only and i have 20%. I want to do 35% all over. Meaning the front two doors, back two, and the rear view. Can anyone please tell me where i can go??? Here is where i live:

New Jersey, Essex Count, West Orange. Anywhere near me? LIke rt10, east hanover, harrison..???

Please i need somone who has either gone their and had it done, or know's someone who got it done their and it looks DAMN good. Please. The thing is they will have to take the tints off my rear windows, that's gonna cost extra... BUT who cares, just want my car to look good. Also Is it true that if you put tints on your rear window, and remove it, it can damage your rear defroster??? I hope not. If they had a tint that was in between 35% and 20% it would be cool. I want 35% because i want it to be just a shadow type. NOt dark. I know 35 is to clear, but my friend had it in his audi and it looked SICK. ANyway please let me know. If possible the phone number and or address or the name of the place so i can call and make an appointment. I need to get it done soon. I got MONEY!!

good call bro, i made my appointment for monday the week after next. Listen i had tints in my back two and my rear.... i head that taking them out and putting others on "might" damage the rear defroster... Is this true? has this happend to anyone?.. My defroster works fine now... after taking them out will it damage it?... ANd about how much do you "THINK" the guy will charge me taking them out and putting new once one??? all windows except the front windshield

The problem with the defroster on the back window is just like the tint it is held to the window with adhesives... on any other window they could use a "sticker remover" type solvent and desolve the tint glue but on the back glass that same remover could damage the adhesive on the defroster grid (which in many models of bmws is also the radio antenna)... For this reason I would make sure you take your car to a good tint shop with a good reputation around town and not the corner store variety... they might do a great job but the larger shops (and hopefully the smaller ones too) will have insurance for any damage to a customer vehicle. Any tint shop will know about the risks of taking tint off the rear windows.

As far as how they do it... most of them will leave the car out in the sun with the windows closed until the back window gets hot and then use a very mild solevant and some razor blades... This is why a larger shop is generally better... there isn't some great real secret to this... its just a lot of skill and theres room to mess it up... a larger shop has probably done more RETINTS then a smaller shop...

Hope this helps any...

You may have to travel to a high end tint shop. I know there's one in NY. Basically, anyone who sells Huper Optik or V-Kool should be more competent than the average tint shop.

Hey bro i wouldn't mind driving all the way to NY to get my tints... It's just that Tropic Tints in Union doesn't have 40% tints... Also i'm not that good with the people who work their.. Last time i got my tints done they charged me $399 dollars... Forget it... ANyone know a GOOD place i don't mind if it's in NY

ive gotten my tints done at tropic window tinting. Im not sure how much they will charge to remove the tints but they charged me 50 to take the tint of my two front windows. They charge 180 for a coupe and 200 for a sedan last time i was there.

Just had Tropic do mine about a month ago. They did a great job. I went with 15% Lumar all around, ofcourse except the windshield. It looks great on a black car.
I received my first ---no tint on the front windows ticket a few weeks ago. :woot:
The trooper was cool. Ofcourse I was speeding.

Auto Creations in Somerville 908 429-8878 did 5 of my cars in the last 7 years. They do excellent work and are really nit-picky with things like cutting edges so light doesnt' show through anywhere. The dots on the top of our windows are tough, but they did a great job with them ( I had to go back 2x though, but they were the ones who wanted to "work" the dots some more, I was happy the first time). They just did my X-3 because the factory privacy glass was anything but private, it is 100% flawless. On the other hand, Myers in Trenton did a bad job on our Rover, it started peeling off in a month, they went over tape stuck on the windows and light shined through most of the edges.

I hear ya- I've been wanting tints since I got my car, but haven't pulled the trigger. Since I have heated seats, I'm willing to get them any time if we can get a group-buy going.

My sig- After I saw these BMW Ads at LISBON EROTIC ADVERTISING FESTIVAL (LEAF), I was on a mission to find a digital copy. They have great adverts.

I finally went to the Dealer and asked them who they used. Visited two shops and made my decision on who to give the business too. 35% will be NICE...you will love it. I didn't want to go with the too dark :str8pimpi look. I have jet black w/35% and it looks

Good luck :woot:

G-Wiz in Westfield did mine. Ask for George the owner - they did a good job on mine and the price is much more reasonable than Tropic. You can see mine in person if you want (I'm in Essex).
