Only if you tip them off a building. Cows lay down on their own all the time.

Btw, this is a Strange Thread of the Day nominee.

we don't think that the cows would actually lie down on their sides by themselves huH? Just like horses...they dun usually lie down by themselves. :dunno: :dunno:

If you tipped a cow over on its side, how would it get up? It weighs so much and its legs are short.

they only die if they hit the ground so hard that their ribs break. Then they are screwed. But usually they just hit the ground and wake up and just get right up. My roommates from Texas and he knows kids who used to cow tip.

Back around when I was 15-16, I'd go and tip the cows over by my house all the time. No, it doesn't hurt them or better yet, kill them. There was one cow we'd tip over all the time and it made a funny noise when it hit the ground.

I really can't seem to grasp how they can get up after they've fallen over on their side.

They fold their legs, get on their stomach and their bony legs eventually lift themselves up. It takes them about 20-30 seconds or so.
