I'm sure in the motor capital of the world, we have some BMW enthusiasts! I found a couple on the boards, but would like to see a larger showing. I dropped by an audi meet, and the guys are fanatics! (Borderline Crazy :) )

hopefully a time can be figured out mid April. I am very busy right now up until mid May but hopefully for 1 weekend we can all meet up.
I have a couple of audi friends who are participating in a track date on April 10. I will check for details, but I believe it will be held at Gingerman (autox) in Grand Rapids. Me as well as another m3 will try to represent there. This is open to all cars, so perhaps the enthusiasts that have been itching to take their cars on a road course will enjoy. otherwise, One meeting should be good sometime next month to get to meet others in the area. During the summer, perhaps a regualr scheduled get together would be great. My suggestion is somewhere on woodward......car groups are always meeting throughout the side of the road.

Man, I feel sorry for you and agree as far as the life. I have been here a month and there is VERY LITTLE to do here. St. Patty's was nice though. Spent it in Royal Oak. If you guys think of a meet, I'm definetly in if I am around.
Oh yea, and roads SUCK here. Now I can understand why american designed cars do too. They are built for Michigan! After about 1k of driving these roads my control arms are acting up, never did so before :( BTW, if you're looking for a place to do service past warranty try Nikolas Motorsport. Not trying to plug them , but I just did my inspection II there and they were great. Even got a free loaner!
Cheers,

I think its a great idea Anerbe. i'm up in Ann Arbor at school but back in Grosse Pointe on weekends a lot... I think Sommerset sounds like the best plan to me, although somewhere in Birmingham would prob be tight as well. After seeing how enthusiastic those metro-d audi enthusiasts are at the GTG the other day (btw, I was the other oddball beemer owner there, selemon's friend (2004 S4)... Sayed told me you started up this thread here, so.... here I am). I know a few other people that'd definitely be down for the meet as well, my buddy has a loaded 330Ci on the way (10 days and counting) and his brother has a 4.4 X5 with a bunch of Dinan stuff on it, amoung others.
I'm summation, after that unneccessarily long post, sounds good, i'm in.

i used to live by adams rd. and tienken rd. right by adams high school. but we moved to gun rd. and collins rd. its a ways out.
im tryin to think of how to get to some of these spots, they are basically in down town rochester behind main street. theres like an industrial part where theres loading docks and what not. this summer im gonna try goin more towards birmingham though and looking at office building parking garages.
theres a really cool place depending what time of day it is becasue its underneath the bridge by the mercedes dealership. got to get there when theres enough light for pics tho.

somerset should be nice, right on the very top floor of the parking structure. this is wide open. also, there are a couple of parking garages in b-ham. all have open tops. some may require you to get a ticket, but are free under 2 hours. a trip down woodward may be nice as well. i have found mostly sunday mornings are best. if not, possibly saturday earlier in the night (perhaps all meet at a bar afterwards :pimpin: )
i will not be available the next two weekends due to a work trip to Germany (company got me an Opel for the autobahn). I hope to visit munich and perhaps see the bmw center. i hope to also visit the location of the tuner Ruf...my family friend knows Aldous Ruf and is setting up a personal meeeting time. Hopefully i'll drive/ride in a Ruf Turbo or GT
If either of the next two weekends are better for most, i'm sure that future meetings will be possible. On April 10, a bunch of Audi guys are going Autox'ing at Gingerman (i think in Grand Rapids). It would be great if we could get some guys to track their BMW's and show them why we have the Ultimate Driving Machines.......i believe it is only 60-70 dollars for 3-4 hours driving, and there is instruction at the beginning, so it counts as drivers training.
So to make things short, i am free sunday, the 11th (sunday) in the morning or perhaps the 10th (saturday) at night. Lets see some other dates!

Hey guys...looks like Michigan has quite the scene!
I'm organizing a caravan to Bimmerfest East 2004 on Thursday July 1rst. As of right now we have reps in Albany, Toronto, Clevaland, Rochester, Ottawa, and Buffalo. I'm going to be posting a thread soon with the reps from each city, the meet times, and the locations so that we can all cruise together.
I was hoping to expand this caravan to people west of Cleveland in Chicago, Detroit, and Indy. Ideally we'd like to have you guys meet us about 1 hour east of Cleveland near Erie, PA around 5pm on Thursday July 1rst.
All I need is one person from each major city who is definately going to go. We'll be staying in a hotel on Thursday night and Friday night. The show is two days and you can find the info here >> www.bimmerfesteast.com .
We are expecting around 40 bimmers from the cities that I listed above. If we're successfull in bringing in people from west of Cleveland we could have an insane amount of bimmers in this caravan.
Is anyone here planningon going to Bimmerfest East? And if so would any of you be willing to be teh rep for the Chicago area?
Think abou it and let me know. If you are interested then I would simply need to know a meeting place for where the Chicago people would meet. I would then add you as the rep for chicago and post your info along with the info to all the other cities. The more cities we have on the post the more people will come. IM me on AIM > cyberpete2k3, PM me here, or send me an e-mail at cyberpete@adelphia.net .
