I sent my mom (70+ yrs. old sorry mom :) ) over to Stevens Creek BMW to have her first service on her new 325i because I had heard the service department was friendly there. I was really surprised that Roel Vela (service advisor) and the crew there exceeded my already high expectations and treated her with kindness and respect. The car was done quickly, efficiently and with obvious care. Highly recommended!

I'm happy to hear that your mom had a good experience. Stevens Creek's service is usually terrible. I've dealt with them on many occasions and have had many problems with them. They're really arrogant. The only reason I take my cars there for service is because one of my friends is a tech there.
I will say though, Roel is by far the nicest and most respectful service advisor I've dealt with so far... and I've dealt with a few there.

you are lucky. Steven Creek service is beyond sucks. They were going to charge me $150 to re-program my LCM. A brand new LCM is actually less than that. My advisor was Roel.

I will never go to steven creek for service.

Always good to hear a positive experience at a dealership but in all honesty, this is something BMW owners should "expect" and not be surprised about...haha

I always take my car to Claridges and they are TOP NOTCH. See Rich Deeds there...my M3 is a bit modified to say the least and just a bit lower than normal M3's...hahahah, but I trust them 100% with my car.

I was there this morning. The new guys there aren't that bad either, just missing the familiar faces.

Re Stevens Creek, I think they're trying to get their act together because Roel was overly helpful and explanatory with my mom about how they are building the new dealership and want to make sure everything is done right and everyone is happy. It seems like something happened to make these guys really be on their best behavior and do the best work possible.

Usually stevens creek is very arrogent and wont give you the time of day at least in the sales department on "the floor"

I agree about the sales dept., that's why i bought my mom's car at Allison. Their parts and service guys are separate and seem much better.

Joe DeFreitas at Claridge's (well, now it's "BMW of Fremont", actually) is awesome. They told me that Rich Deeds is at East Bay now, which I've also heard good things about, but it's a bit far for me.

I've been to Allison a few times in the past. No problems with the quality of service or treatment of my car, but they're slooooow.

Do Claridge still give out BMW loaners?!?!

My experience with Claridge's/Fremont has always been that you get an Enterprise rental for the first 24 hours, then if they need your car longer than that, you can bring it back and get a 325 loaner. (They do have a couple of Z4s in the loaner fleet, but....)

I went there right after my 1200 service with the loose bumper TSB and they (Roel Vela and the service manager) claimed that it was due to impact and wanted to charge me to re-hing the bumper, even though there was no paint damage at all and even after I mentioned the TSB.

They even said that it could take hours to re-hing it just right. I didn't even ask how much they charge for labor. During the course of our conversation they mentioned that they would have done it out of courtesy if I had purchased my car there. Very unprofessional. Before I left Roel told me to take my car someone else next time. I replied that I would take my business there too. When I picked up my car the bumper was re-hinged :dunno: .

My sister was with me at the time. She had just purchased her car there and was so shocked at their treatment that she opted not to buy my dad's 5 series there, let alone return for service.

I went to Fremont for my next service. The service there is EXCELLENT!

"they would have done it out of courtesy if I had purchased my car there"

I should hope so, given the $5k markup you would have paid....lol

Anyway, yeah, that's pretty bad. Wow. I would tell BMWNA that they told you not to come back. Someone should get spanked for that.

ray....i was always told there were no BMW loaners at Claridge's....

and last time i went....i asked for one cuz there was a 325i with "customer courtesy car" sticker on it sitting outside...but the service ppl told me they dont have BMW loaners

Well, that's a lie. I've seen the list of loaner cars, they have about 30-ish. (Most are out at any given time.) They do only seem to be willing to give you one if your car is there for more than a day of warranty-related service (again, 24 hour Enterprise rental comes first), but I haven't really pushed this.

In fact, I have a 325xi loaner from them right now.

I was gonna their shuttle back to school, but 5 mins before shuttle came, my service advisor offered me one .. that's y i wanna go back there agian but my service advisor guy left already ...
