Calling all fabricators. Can I get a 4" speaker in the stock tweeter location in the upper corner of the door opposite the rear view mirror (found in 3 series). I already have the JL Audio XR 650 (6.5") components up front, I'm trying to add JL's 4' mid up front..

Any help would be greatly appreciated

are you talkin' about where the stock tweeters are?

I wanted to do the same thing but even if you cut, you don't have much depth to the window. Unless you plan to never roll your window down. Or you could replace the window with a plastic zipper window...j/k.

Seriously, you have some options though. You'll probably be looking for a midrange that has a freq resp between 250hz and 4k hz. Dynaudio makes such a speaker. Also, you can use a ribbon-type tweeter instead of the standard dome which gives you a wider freq range. I'd suggest that if you want to do a 3 way system up front, put the midbass in the door and build kick panels for your mid/tweets.

The factory tweeter location won't accomodate a speaker much larger than the factory speaker.

Dealer. I used mine to mount my new tweeters otherwise I'd just give them to you.
