if black smoke comes out of the exhaust...does that mean your running too rich or too lean?....this is offtopic though....I had a runin with an e46 m3 with 19's in smg from 60 to 130 on the highway....he had one other person in his car but he never pulled more than two car lengths up to 130....i'd say the ASA kit is pretty amazing....

Im surprised he was able to pull 2 cars on you, should have been more like neck and neck.
When are you getting the black smoke, is it right after you let go of the gas??

i have heavy rims and also a heavy system...and i have an automatic 323i....so i'm guessing 2 car lengths sounds about right....he said that everytime i would step on it a puff of black smoke would come out of my exhaust....

Well you are definately running rich. What was your AFR reading?
My AFR is 12.1 and I get a cloud of black smoke when my car is cold, I cant figure this out.

Smell your exhaust...running rich leaves a DISTINCT smell. Smells like gasoline:)

12.1 is perfect when you're in boost, but if you are not in boost it's pretty rich. if you get black smoke at idle at 12.1 you don't need ot worry about it. if it is when you're in boost when you get black smoke then it's a different story.
