I just got the most insane deal on a Pioneer AVH-P6500.
Im trading my Alpine CDA9813 plus $300 for that piece.
Anyways, I was wondering if any of you had any horror/success stories I should now about before I get started. I have done all my own car audio installs so im sure this wont be too difficult. I just wanted to run by the experts before I get started.
Thanks.

Take your time. Installation is not something that you can do piece by piece. i suggest you set a day aside to do it right. make sure you got all of the downloads from this forum and make sure you have the correct pieces. I messed up by putting 5.25 all around and of course the sound is week so now i have to get 6.5 and reinstall everything.

What do you mean when you say"5.25 & 6.5"?
What is that measurement referring too?

He's talking about speakers. If you installed the Alpine unit, the Pioneer should be a pretty simple swap, with a couple extra connections.
Tip: if you ground the parking brake wire from the Pioneer unit (I believe it is light green, but check to make sure), you will be able to use the screen while driving (not encouranging you, just an idea) ;)

Yes, its green with white stripe.
The pioneer is actually pretty easy since you have a little more room than the alpine. It takes a little bit of shoving wires here and there but simple.
