BMW Mercedes Lexus Meet SEQUEL!!!

The BMW Mercedes Lexus meet is back on!! We had such a huge turnout (160+ cars) on April 27th and the BMW representation was INCREDIBE! Unfortunately, we got rained on and it made the raffle and everything else soggy!

Well, I've been working hard to put together a sequel! I am currently in the process of getting a permit at Floyd Bennett Field and the projected date for the big event is Sunday, June 13th! This meet will be just like the April 27th meet, but we will have WAAAAAY more space and hopefully more prizes to raffle off! I am currently getting all the BMW sponsors together to ensure the BMW crowd is taken care of at the raffle!

This will not be the official thread for the meet, but why don't we start the roll-call list here and we can just transfer it over to the official thread, which will be created as soon as I hear back from the Floyd Bennett Field contact (which will definitly be sometime this week)! Floyd Benette Field is a VERY cool abandoned airport which is right off the Belt Parkway in Brooklyn, NY. It is an enclosed and PRIVATE facility, and since it is directly off the exit of the Belt Parkway, we will not have to worry about traffic lights or people taking up spaces in our lot. I am getting a permit for the lot and so it will be EXCLUSIVELY ours!

Just as a note, since we (BMW folk) had the strongest representation at the April 27th meet, rumor has it that the Lexus and Mercedes guys are going to make a play to take the crown! So far we've got 6!! Let's keep it strong and keep the crown!! Friendly competition ROX!!

There are a lot of pics, but as you will see, clearly the enthusiasm for pic taking was washed out with the rain. Come to the June 13th meet as it should be similiar turnout in terms of numbers and HOPEFULLY NO RAIN!!!

So far so good! The BMW camp is in the lead in terms of the number of cars coming! :thumbup: Here is the current breakdown as of today:

BMW = 35
Lexus = 27
Mercedes = 27

Don't know if you all remember, but last time we could hardly keep up with the Lexus camp. Their numbers were super strong, but in the end we managed to keep up! Well, a real big surprise this time is the Mercedes effort! The Mercedes coordinators, Vik and Tom, are determined to surpass the BMW effort this time around! Let's not allow that to happen! The BMW presence was really felt the last time around. Let's make sure it is felt even stronger than before this time around! :thumbup:

just find ur way to the verazzno bridge and take the belt parkway east gett off on exit 11s and drive slowy till you see the sign for floyd bennett field,

How Do U Get To This Show...does Anyone Know Directions From Conneticut.....off I-95 Highway.

It's pretty easy. Take I-95 South. You will go all the way to the Throgs Neck Bridge. On the Throgs Neck, toward the end you will see an exit on the right for the Cross Island. You want to goet off on that and take the Cross Island all the way down. The Cross Island Parkway eventually splits into a Y. On the left will be the Southern State Parkway and on the right will be the Belt Parkway. You want to stay on the right (Belt Parkway). Take the Belt Parkway to the Flatbush Ave South Exit. Go straight down for about a mile and you will see the opening to the facility on your left. Make a left into the facility and lok for the Ryan's Apron.

I will be posting directions for everyone in a day or 2 unless someone else beats me to it.

The exit off of the Belt Parkway is EXIT 11S

1. Go straight down (1 MILE) [stay in the left lane]. RIGHT BEFORE THE TOLL you will see a sign on the LEFT HAND side that says GATEWAY NATIONAL RECREATION AREA FBF. That sign is directing you to make a left. MAKE THAT LEFT into Floyd Bennett Field.

NOTE: This is the part that confuses SOME people because there is a toll booth RIGHT BEFORE the left hand turn you have to make. Some people see the toll booths and feel like they are coming too close to it and get afraid that they've missed the turn and will have to go through the toll. DO NOT BE FOOLED! You will come very close to the toll. Just wait till you see the sign that says GATEWAY NATIONAL RECREATION AREA FBF and then make that left.

2. Go straight between and past the 2 little house/offices with the yellow and black speed bump. On your RIGHT-HAND side you will see a cluster of brown-colored signs with arrows in them. The very bottom one says CRICKET FIELD and it's pointing to the left. Make that LEFT-HAND turn.

3. You are now on a long beautiful road which will tempt each and evey one of you to speed! RESIST THE TEMPTATION and follow the speed limit of 25MPH PLEASE! Go straight down until you see the CRICKET FIELD sign and make that LEFT.

4. Go straight. (You will see the lot on the left.) Make the next possible LEFT.

5. Make a quick LEFT into the lot and drive to where the cluster of sweet rides are sitting!
