Roosevelt Field is located at the intersection of Old Country Road and Meadowbrook Parkway in Garden City, NY.

From Brooklyn - Take Belt Parkway East, which will turn into the Southern State Parkway. Take the Southern State Parkway to Exit 22N Meadowbrook Parkway North. Take Exit M-2 West.

From New York City - Take Queens Midtown Tunnel to L.I.E. (495) Exit 38 to Northern State Parkway to Meadowbrook Parkway/Jones Beach. Take Exit M-2 West.

From Queens - Take Grand Central Parkway East (becomes Northern State Parkway) to Meadowbrook Parkway/Jones Beach. Take Exit M-2 West.

From Suffolk County -
From the Northern State Parkway westbound, exit at Exit 31A, Meadowbrook Parkway South. Exit Meadowbrook Parkway at Exit M2, at the "Shopping Mall" sign. Follow the off-ramp and you will see the mall.

From the Southern State Parkway westbound, Exit at 22 North, Meadowbrook Parkway North. Exit Meadowbrook Parkway at Exit M2, at the "Shopping Mall" sign. Follow the off-ramp and you will see the mall.

Just stay on the left lane all the way there. The gw bridge the last time i took it. It was getting better but what i would do is drive with my blinkers and go slow. I do that all the time after you pass gwb it's all smooth roads. They layed new roads all the way to long island. I figure you will take the triboro after the gwp. Just drive up on the gcp left side all the way there thats the way i'm going. You hit jones beach exit on the gcp to exit m2 mall. and you are there. :thanks:

I reached and sustained 140MPH and held it for more than 4 minutes, while the 2 //M3s (SMGs) inched away and topped out at 185!!! The damn limiter would not allow me to go anymore! :( Jan, you shoulda seen Ray trying to step on the passenger side brakes!! LOL!!!!!

Both their cars are stock (no performance mods whatsoever) and have no limiter. They further explained that the only way for you to know if you have a limiter or not is to get a nice long stretch of road and gun that baby and see if she stops at 140MPH!

okay guys ......sorry for the late checkin and the late reply. All I am gonna say is John and Ron (RRRize) were some crazy mofo's, yes i was in the front seat pressing on my damn brakes, holding onto dear life. Ron topped out at 140 and the car was at redline and he was still going in order to hang, sorry not hang BUT LEAD the M's and so he was. I can't ever believe a stock 328i can run among e36 M's let alone e46 M's but this man was doing just that, and he left one of the M's behind for a while with his stunt driving (jidexl is the proof of that) <<<and Charles (Jidexl) can drive as well. Charles, Nice meeting by the way man ! It's just that the cuts Ron was pulling is amazing (track race car driver) style ... Oh, let me go back to the 180mph. After we were on the straight line around the jones beach area is when the M's passed off RRRize ofcourse ... and this is when Ron was doing 140 @ (redline) and the M's seemed like they were doing 180. Just the way they pulled off, made Ron seemed like he was doing 65. My guess could be wrong but boy were they OUT ! Charles and John .. you guys can drive :thumbup: Oh Jan ... you missed out man .. so did Jay. Oh that Jones beach run, there was a cop hidden on the side of the road as well when the 2 M's did like 130+ and me and Ron were behind them, ... the cop didn't pull out either, I guess its that time of the month when they don't give a damn :dunno: We were lucky though :)

You should probably start out wit the obvious intake and exhaust. Those help the car to breathe MUCH better. Improving aspiration improves performance noticably.

Then you should consider reprogramming your ECU with a good performance software. There are a few you can consider now for our cars... there's Dinan, Technic, shark injector, SuperChips. From most of the feedback I've heard Dinan is the most expensive and gives the LEAST amount of performance. Do a search for what others have said about the others, including Dinan. Also, consider doing some independant research outside of the forums. Then make your decision.

Then you could consider lowering the car to eliminate some of the under body drag.

Those are the simple and least expensive mods that people generally start out with. If you find you need MORE speed you can consider headers and cams and if you're not a stickler for natural-aspiration like I am, you can consider getting a supercharger!

But lemme tell you, one mod that I got that seemed to give me an additional 62 - 70 HP was the ACS Carbon Fiber interior trim! :pimpin: Dude, there's no logical or scientific explaination for it, but RIGHT AFTER installing mine the car seemed to just take off like a rocket ship bro! I would seriously consider getting that if I were you. :P

Hey Jan, I've always held back from investing in a radar detector because I'm skeptical about their effectiveness. Do you really think they are worth it? And is the Valentine 1 the best way to go? Don't the cops have tons of ways to get around radar detectors?

I'm sure the cops have technologies against the V1, but I'm actually waiting for the new Valentine to come out, we'll see. I know "false security" but anything is better than nothing "As soon as I get 1 ticket, my insurance comp will cut me off"

IMO, it is best to do your own research and determine what is best for you. I notice how lots of people recommend stuff on the forum, but don't quite know why or how the thing they are recommending is any different than competitive products. I also notice how many people recommend the stuff that THEY have or WANT. I'm not knocking anyone, I'm just making an observation. That being said, allow me to offer my opinion...

As far as Remus is concerned, I've heard good and bad things, but more good than bad. Those exhausts are very well crafted, but one of the bad things (actually the ONLY bad thing) I heard is that they rust! Other than that, the sound is purrrfect (if you're looking for a non-noisy sound). The Remus exhaust purrs like a cat and at full throttle they sound jet-like, not lawnmower like. IMO, Remus exhausts are right up there in terms of sound quality with Supersprint and AA. Aggressive yet not noisy! If you prefer something more aggressive sounding and loud but also good quality, do a little research on B&B Triflo! My friend with a 330Ci had it installed on his and the low gurgle was incredible but when he opened it up... let's just say you knew that dude was coming!! By the way, I think I'm getting a Remus myself, so when you're ready let me know and we can prolly order 2gether.

Intakes - Same deal bro. GruppeM, ECIS, Dinan... IMO, just do some research and see what's best for you. From my understanding Dinan's intake is good, but no better than ECIS or GruppeM or Conforti. However, with the Dinan it's a real PITA install because your front bumper MUST be removed to get it on and though it's not likely, you are also suseptable to water damage in the event of a flood. The Dinan intake, from what I hear does not produce any better performance than any other inatke I mentioned above, but it costs a LOT more. I think I'm gonna go for the GruppeM intake myself STRICTLY because of looks. :pimpin: Otherwise I'd prolly go with ECIS as I've been a long time fan of that intake because of its low cost and similiar performance to the others.

As far as clear corners, uhhhhh... YES! It is a fashion FoPah (Sp?) to drive an E46 with amber lenses bro. IMO, it's just damn unacceptable and if I could have it my way, ambers on E46s would be banned by law. Change them, change them, change them!! You are excused since you jjust got the car, but 2 or 3 more weeks with ambers ad I am sending out the clear corner police swat team after you! :)

Finally, in order to lower your car there are 3 main options:
1. Springs
2. Cup Kit
3. Coils

Springs are the cheepest solution. With springs you simply are swapping out the factory springs and keeping the factory shocks. The Cup Kit is a combination shock and spring together. This is a nice solution because you are lowering your car with an optomized set up. If you get just springs alone, you could run the risk of getting springs that are not optomized for your factory shocks and as a result you may have to very soon replace those shocks! Coils are a great solution especially if you plan on adjusting the drop from time to time. If so, you might just consider getting adjustable coils. Dude, gimmie a call and I will explain it all better on the phone or just do a search. This info is plastered all over the forum!
