well, i have an auto 323 with almost 80k miles.
my car is slow, not a manual, and too many miles for a s/c or anything.
ive given up on go, id hate to spend a ton of money to get 20 more hp, and then get burned by a stock wrx or something.

now... if i had a manual 330.....

I'm 50-50 on this one.

I do the compulsory mods for both sides :D I have CAI, pulleys, exhaust, coils and struts for performance, and I have front add-on, roof and trunk spoilers for aesthetics. And lil bits and pieces like pedals, interior trims, painted mouldings and grill covers.

If I had the money, I would also spend for engine performance. I got a wife and kids, so they are my priority. Right now, I just purchased from e-bay some ACS replica foot pedals and hand brake. I also purchase a CF lip spoiler that only cost $85.00. Next year, I will be buying some rims. So, you could say that I am more of a show. Well, got make the car look good right.

The only exterior mod I did was clears. Rest is under the hood, or inside. I like having a sleeper...

i have the usually show mod's and i guess the usually go mod's. but you can only go so far with the perf. mod's to. because they are very expensive.
geting into show mod's again but not to crazy compare to some of the heavy hiters in the forum............

I like to keep my car stock looking, I prefer the clean - sleeper look. 90% of my mods are under the hood

What qualifies as Go rather than Show other than serious engine work or a SC? Intake, exhaust, coilover, BBK and strut bars are basically Show aren't they? They offer little performance gains to these cars. What's everyone's opinion since most voted for both Show and Go so far?

I admit when I started I went more for the show, but that is because it gets a little bit more satisfaction quickly. Now I am focusing on the driving dynamics of my car and looking for more go. Dumped the Eibachs for ZHP setup to get a more balanced ride, changing the sways, working on intake and exhaust, and hopefully and SC. So I say its balanced just at different times.

I would say those mods you mentioned are dual purpose - both show and go. Although an intake would be more 'go' cuz no one will see it unless you pop the hood.

I do a bit of both, but since my car is kinda slow to start with (2.5L with slushbox), I do more for cosmetics.

the question is how much go could you possibly have with a 323 when compared to the top of the line e46, the m3? thats right, little to none. thats why its all show for my 323ci.

As I have stated on numerous occasions, I am an admitted attention *****. :hi:

So, for me, mostly SHOW mixed with a little "Go."
(see sig)

I was actually all "SHOW" in the beginning, you b!tches made me get what little extra GO I have thus far:thumbup:

The way I see it, BMW's already given me enough GO by compressing and tuning the hell outta these M54's (and S54's) we got. I don't think that I could really claim to be about "GO" unless I supercharged.

Actually... BMW engines aren't that highly compressed.

Show and go. But I have pumped more money into show.

Intake, exhaust, pulleys, SW, springs and sways are the go part.
Wheels are a bit of both.
The interior (2-tone blk on blk leather and ballistic nylon) the soundsystem (full 5.1 soldy surround with DVD kicking out about 1000+watts. It'll make your bleed I you really want it to.) and the interior lighting (http://www.iceled.co.uk) Next mods are all body (mirrors, sideskirts, rear valance and shave the hood and trunk with some ghost graphics but thats next year...gotta save up some more cash.)

See sig.

I think all the guys on here who spend thousands on performance and suspension mods only to drive around town is throwing money away.
