View Full Version : Auto meter Gauges Questions

I would like to ask if our cars use ELETRIC or Mechanical Gauges, since Autometer makes both versions in 2&1/16" . And the price difference between ELETRIC or Mechanical Gauges are very big! Also since Autometer is a US company, their senders are not in METRIC size, would anyone who installed Autometer gauges post related infomation, thanks in advance! :bow: :thumbup:

I have the same a/f and boost, they go in real easy. The oil temp I have no idea.

use electric way way easier and safer...unless you would like to have engine hot oil running through your car and if something happens you might have it running inside the cab!!!!

This is so incorrect. The mechanical gauge has a thin metal wire wrapped in another wire that transmits the heat to the gauge, the oil does not run in the car.

Electrical gauges are easier to install that is true.
