What do you think? Can a AA Supercharged manual 323i take a 1996 Camaro Z28 5.7L? Its supposed to be stock... the guy is betting $400 :)

Supposedly the SCed 323i takes it in the start but the Z28 dips after it gets its traction... opinions?

I'll get it on tape so that you guys can see the race... :pimpin:

Well the stock 1996 z28 is supposed to run a 14 flat quarter mile stock, compared to a AA supercharged 323i is 14.2 (or so I have heard) It may come down to driver skill.

I wouldnt bet on the race but it should be interesting.

Well, ran last night against the Camaro Z28 and a Carbon fiber body Civic Si with a Prelude V-tech engine and 50 shot NOS installed... they wanted to start the race "rolling", not completely stoped. Of course, 'cause the Civic Si is FWD and b/c the Z28 has a dificult start due to wheel spin; you need to know how to really drive it... :)

Thing is that we started the race and I jumped to the front, the Z28 fell back a cars length, the Civic Si was half a cars length behind... i shifted into second and the Si was slowly falling back; of course it suddenly caught up with every burst of NOS... weird thing is, the Z28 stopped the car around the 1/8th of the mile...he said at the end:"I started fine, but then when i shifted into second, my Fuel regulator failed... so i think we need to race after i fix this.." :dunno:

Well, all in all it was a good race. My friend, that usually records the races didn't take the camera but will do next time we race... ...when the guy fixes his "fuel pressure regulator"...

Well, we don't have Dyno's in my country; but will go dyno it the weekend of the 25th of this month (Costa Rica). Planning on getting Supersprint Headers, Racing pipe and High-flow resonator the weekend of the 18th of this month...also trying to get a used 323ia/328ia 3.46 Differential.... hopefully ill have all this installed by the 25th so that it will be reflected on the Dyno. I'll post it as soon as I get it.

According to AA webpage, SCed 323i without any other mods should have 310BHP... :)

I like the aluminum inside you have for head lights  ... thats something I want to get soon!

I already called a junkyard in florida that has the 3.46 Diff from a 2000 323ia selling it for $500 bucks... Sent some emails to quote in other states with prices from $280 to $450.. thing is, i like the idea of driving to the junkyard and seen the part myself. I heard so many good things about the 3.46 diff, i just can't wait to get it :) ... going from a 3.07 to a 3.46 must make a huge difference!

About the Iridium plugs... i think i would rather get plasma coils for $400 bucks at eBay (list price $700) :dunno: ... that would definetely be down the road; after speding a couple of grand on the Exhaust system and diff.

I topped off my iridiums with ignition solution coils, bought it all on ebay. They are nice for now, but when my new engine gets put together and I got myself a nice blower...they'll help out alot more!! I got my 3.46 for $250 with $60 shipping from a place down in florida....I wouldn't even sweat the need to "see" it when ordering online. Go to www.car-parts.com, search under "carrier" instead of differential, they are all listed there. I'ld spend the money on the diff and denso plugs ($60 or so) now....get the coils and exhaust as you get more paychecks!!

Thanks for the advice! :) Thats where i looked for the Diff (www.car-parts.com)... got a lot of options; sent like 8 emails. I'll follow your advice on "the need to "see" it when ordering online"... i've heard differentials are pretty much bullet-proof.
Will also consider the Iridiums, ASAP...im just dying for headers and the rest of the exhaust system... I want to complete the whole air cycle (FI, high-flow exhaust)

I had a 1997 Z28 Auto and ran 14.1 - 14.3 stick cars are a little faster

The lt1s were strong

The ls1 are better
