Gents,

Been talking to Jon at LeatherZ (thanks to kdog for the hookup), they are going to provide me with the bracket, oil press, oil temp and EGT gauges and all hardware. LeatherZ uses VDO gauges.

My problem is that leatherZ has little experience with EGT gauges, ie where to mount the send ( I believe it is tapped into the exhast manifold), can I get some input on this please.

Also I was thinking would AFR be a better gauge than EGT? or has anyone incorporated a diff setup to monitor all 4 of these? the leatherz bracket will hold only 3 gauges and replaces the sunglasses holder below the climate control.

The parts are about $400usd for the bracket, 3 gauges (oil temp/press/egt) and senders.

Thanks in advance

omar,

Forget VDO. The build quality is really not that great. Get Greddy, Delphi or SPA Technique. If you want AFR, it has got to be wideband ($300 ish).

Btw, sent you an email. Let me know.

As far as VDO, Don't do it

You can make a reg AF gauge a widw band with a simple add on from Radio Shack, do a search.

I did all three of mine for less than $200

Gauges, are going to have to go in ASAP.

I think I am looking at Defi. EGT, Oil Pessure, And Boost I think.

Problem is I have Sat Nav. Going to have to custom mount them in the ashtray!

Hey guys, really need a hand here :dunno: I am going to purchase the bracket from leatherz and source the gauges else where.

~Why not VDO gauges...they do match the OEM.
~How do you set up for oil pressure, because of the ASA SC setup, checked out UUC and they have the machine oil filter cap with fitting looks like a nice piece but it is $100 just for the cap.
~AFR or EGT for monitoring?
~Where does sender for EGT go?
~Do i need mechanical or electrical gauges? I am guessing electrical with proper senders?

Rich: did a search and could not find out how to set up for wideband, ie. the radio-shack conversion.

Thanks

1. Build quality of VDO is really poor. Trust me on this. I gave up the amber backlit. I wanted VDO initially, until I saw Greddy myself. If you want the amber backlit go with SPA Technique dual gauge.

2. Easiest way is to use a banjo bolt that replaces the oil pan nut. If you want oil temp and press at the same time you will need a t-joint. Don't bother about the oil filter cap.

3. Go with EGT.

4. On the downstream side of one of the headers. Welding required.

5. Electrical.
