just wanted to let you guys know I HATE BMW AND THEIR DAMN COMPLEX ECU'S. I want to take out my ECU and BURN IT! :evil: I want a stand alone engine management unit, but screw spending +$2500 for a Motec unit. I should have bought a Japenese car. They are easier to tune. Why does stuff have to be sooooo EXPENSIVE. And to think I used to complain that the STILLEN supercharger was too much for my Maxima for just $3500. I would gave my testicle up for a $3500 supercharger for this car. just wanted to vent. thanks for listening :) I THINK I AM :loco:

What do you mean not worth it to mod, ESS and AA both have software and larger injectors and Rennsport is not too far behind with the ASA SK2 (software and injectors). I could have got into a 500 hp Turbo supra for about 50-65% of what i have invested in my car, would I trade ....not a chance I am still driving a bimmer. With the SK2 I should be close to 325 rwhp that is not something to take lightly there are few cars (especially verts) putting down those kinda numbers. Worth every penny in my humble opinion.

And Malakia12, yes our ECU's are a pain in the a$$ but it just goes to show the technology,quality and engineering that BMW has put into these cars.

I definetely love BMW....yes they are a problem when it comes to ECU tunning, and yes everything is sooo damn expensive...but you cant deny that a Japanese car is not even close to BMW quality.

I started with my car, just to get it faster... now I'm drag racing; worse thing about it, is that I think im reaching my limits. My car is doing 13.5 with rear M3 Stock tires (255x45). What else can I do? I'm in the process of choosing a shop to get the heads ported; this will supposedly improve HP by 10%, maybe get me in the 370bhp...though about cams, but not convinced ($$vs performace obtained)...damn Subaru WRX Sti with a buch of crap, running on jet fuel and NOS takes my a$$... so im ending up 2nd place in the events.... :hmm: ....i guess i'll just have to wait and see what they come out with for the current e46 (ATP turbo??), or maybe the rumors are true and they will come out with the E90 335ti (turbo)....THAT would definetely be a fun car to mod :thumbup:
