Hey im looking into getting a S/C...im not too familiar with them but im leaning towards An AA S/C...i also wanted to kno if any ones got a nice setup like... S/C, hearders, cat back, ect. let me kno whats good.. :buff:

Go for ASA (or new ESS kit; it is basically the same; uses same supercharger unit). Combine that with some headers and a full catback exhaust and you will be a very happy person :thumbup:

You really dont have to do a full cat back system, yes you would gain some Hp, but the stock exhaust flows pretty well. But one thing you have to get is a HD clutch if u have a manual.

The ASA kit uses the TM12.
Oh yea I forgot, the other compressors are larger compared to the TM12.

Best thing to do is buy an RMS kit, and have AA install it, and tune it. Get a set of headers no cats, and a nice exhaust. Put a turbonetics water/alchohol system and be done with it!! I have raced the ASA, and ESS, and the AA, and thats why my old 330sc beats them all. END OF THE LINE

The injection is to keep the motor running cooler. I had a intercooler and for my car ,the heat, the intercooler just couldnt do the job. Got the turbonetics water injection, fill it with rubbing alchohol, and call it a day. It keeps the motor ALOT cooler. I had an EGT gauge, so I can see the difference in the numbers from with the alchohol and without. Plus it shows on the A/F on the dyno. Why RMS? Really good question, cant explain it... When i was getting my kit put in, there was another 330 getting the ASA kit, when we were done we ran, what a joke. True the Vortec spools all its power further out in the rpm band, but the torque is amazing!! I have another friend with the AA, and they are just that, plain. The ESS was bar far the slowest of all of them, had the same blower, but tubing, injectors, and tuning were all different, looked different, cant explain it. Had the kit for almost 2 years now, and havent found another 330 even close to mine, let alone the new AA charged e46 m3!! Trust me, RMS kit, and AA does the rest, those guys know what to do!!

Oh yeah the turbonetics is alot cheaper too. I mounted mine in the engine bay, where there is that empty hole, opposite the ECU. It works on boost pressure, you can set it on what rpm you want it to start spraying on, all vaccum oriented, it is the best money i soent on the car!

Well I live in TX and MO depending what time of the yr. Is it possible AA could do my car by like shipping stuff to them to set the ecu or whatever? Are you shure the reason why your car is so much faster isnt due to some of your other mods like headers, water/alcohol injection, or sumthing?
So with alc. injection do you have an intercooler? I remember reading something about the dangers of water/alcohol injection? Is it safe and reliable? How much hp/trq do you think you gained from switching over to this setup? And where do you live? I live in TX during the summer and it can get damn hot.

This has to be the FIRST post ever recommending a RMS SC kit over the rest. I don't see how since RMS and ESS both uses the same compressor (as you mentioned) even with slightly different shape tubing and possibly different flow injectors could give them any advantage since the boost characteristics would still be the same regardless. Nothing but drama about RMS. If you guys do a search on the forums about them you'll see why.

AlanL- You are totally correct, the drama is way too much for anyone to handle. Thats why I brought the car to AA for them to fix any and all the problems, which was basically the tuning, injectors, and some piping defects. Why is the RMS better than the ESS, dont know, we both couldnt figure it out, but the same car, same mods, different SC's, and tuning. The RMS kit just was better,It still stands, my old 330 sc welcomes any challenges from any charged e46, or even heavily modded e46 m3's.
You dont really gain hp with the alchohol injection, it just keeps everything reliable, meaning no heatsoak, and the motor always runs cooler. Which is what you want, cuase if the motor runs too hot, you run into LEAN issues, and that affects your bottom end, which is what happened to my old 330, piston rings are dead, the car makes horrible compression, and will need a new bottom end anyday now. That is what RMS did to my car, the lean issues, byt the time it went to AA, and I put the alchohol injection on, it was too far gone...But for other special mods that i have IM me or email me, and we can talk further.. bmwm3eater@aol.com and its my IM also bmwm3eater

ASA = F50GT
There is no comparison because the ASA compressor blows the Vortech out of the water. The Vortech design is archaic compared to the planetary gear setup of the ASA...step out of the dark ages.
Give me any Vortech powered E46 running the same amount of boost and I will personally WIPE THE FLOOR with it...you can take that to the bank.

I don't see how heatsoak would make your engine run lean??? :rolleyes:
If you're experiencing heatsoak, the amount of oxygen in the air is reduced and hence you would be running rich! Don't mix intake air temperatures with combustion temperatures...
The reason for running lean is propably in your software and your fuel supply... :thumbup:

Technik is right... any ASA blower will RAPE the vortech. Why do you think ESS switched from Vortech to ASA..... because they realized that it is more efficient, creates less heat to the engine, and makes MORE POWER.
ESS Still sells the Vortech blower for 330, and also the ASA.

Actually, we installed a WI system on my ASA setup. If Rennsport has a project on this, that would be my car. Zol and I spent hours working on it. I posted on this forum a while back. Anyhoo, to answer some questions:
Is WI necessary for SC setup? Not really. WI is used mainly in turbo setup cos of the higher boost.
Does it need fine-tuning? Definitely. It's not a bolt-on and forget it kind of mod. Injecting water mist at the wrong boost/temp can hurt the net performance.
Is it worthy? If you don't track your car, don't get it. I switched off the system for daily driving.
Does WI system with alcohol mixture cools the engine? Actually it does reduce the cylinder temperatures. And it prevents detonation. But since the intercooler is doing most of the job, alcohol is not even needed for our kind of boost.

:dunno: but maybe the ASA, ESS or AA you might have been racing might have been running on like 2psi boost or something. I think samirs cars over the 400hp mark, dude you would get officially :owned:
Personally i havent heard nothing but horror stories about the RMS kit.. But then again if you think RMS is that dam good post us a dyno if you got one.

Get real, that motor isnt made for that kind of power, see there is a guy in Jacksonville Florida that on another forum posted he had ASA, headers all this crap, and he posted the dyno at like 389rwhp, well we met half way, and beat him too, buy two cars, solid all the way up to about 165mph. As for dynos the car was sold, and dont have any, and even if i did, I dont know if the owner wants them to be posted. All friends, or people that know SAMIR, stop posting on his behalf, do you see me stooping to that level, where I need poeple to come on and say " YOU WOULD GET OWNED" This is stupid already, I put in my .02, and it turns into a nightmare..Samir, you run your car that the track? Done better than a 12.73 @ 114.3 mph? with a 2.54 60'? Thats close to 11's with a better 60', you so sure you can wipe the floor with me now? Thats the 330, the m3 is faster, with a worse 60' time. As a matter of fact the 330 has bad piston rings, and is losing the bottom end due to loss of compression. Thanks to RMS, but none the less, I need to get ahold of you, to see what your ideas are, see what you recommend, like buying a new motor, i.e. bottom end, or getting soemthing from you at RENNSPORT, so lets set aside who has the bigger ego here, and try to help me, please. I am asking humbly, tell me a way to get ahold of you!!

I have never openly challenged any E46 M3s…I don’t need to. I have respect for both cars (M3 and 330).
My challenge was clear: Vortech vs. ASA running the same boost…ASA wins HANDS DOWN, NO QUESTIONS ASKED. It has nothing to do with whose ego is bigger, M3 vs. 330, etc. It simply comes down to engineering fundamentals…ASA has taken centrifugal compressor technology to a new level, period.

It’s clear you know ZERO about boost, torque, compression and how they relate to each other. 10.2:1 is not high by any means…I think Paul (KromeX) has proven the M54B30 can handle up to 500HP reliably.

FASTESTM3, personally i belive you and the times that you have ran. But i beleive the reason why your 330 is so much faster than all the other brands is due to your setup with headers and A/W injection etc....
And its sound like there no reason to get the RMS over say ASA seeing how the RMS has such poor ecu tuning, i mean god knows how much u spent to have AA tune your car.

Samir- Got your PM, I never had beef with you before you started acting all hard- I dont really know what else could have been done to rectify the issue YOU thought we had, other than apologize, which I did more than once. I would have really liked to see what you felt, and gotten your professional opinion, which I tried to numerous times, and got no repsponse. I am not bothered by our incident, and would still like to have your input, and again,I have no beef, if you dont. I mean I am hoping I can count on the one that everyone refers to as "G-D", to assist me, and not "rip" me off as the others on the board so pleasantly put it- The ball is neutral now and in your court-

figured the guy sucked it up and apologized and figured you might as well soak him for a buck or two, however upon thinking about it and fastestm3 showing his true colors I was thrilled with your response
I apologize for the soak him for a buck or two comment. I meant it as for a possible sale/new client. Obviously money for mods is not an issue here. I'm outta here.

Ok, again, what is it that Samir is doing that is so great? So what I called him out, big whoopty do, he comes back all rude, tells me I am 16 flipping burgers, talking about things that have no relavnace. I come back pissed, but try to collect myself, and I apologize, and no one sticks up for me, yet again Samir comes back rude, even more so than the first time. I am pissed, at everyone, are you peolpe not reading what Samir is replying? WTF? All you poeple dont even know him, or ever seen his car and you are all taking sides, you have never met me, or seen the cars that I build from top to bottom, and sell them. I dont care what any of you think its just not cool to be putting me down over someone who does alot of talking, and posts papers. So what if my main calling is street racing? The only reason everyone takes sides with Samir is because he has gained our respect by showing and sharing his knowledge and backing everything back. Take note that he didnt gain the respect he has now from one day to another... its been for a couple years.
FastestM3... Im sorry man, but you put yourself in this situation... you come on to this board talking hella smack.. challenging the probably most respected member of this board. Not only that, no one here has seen your car or raced you... Now how do you expect us to believe you? Back something up.
As far as I can tell, Samir never came out to talk shiet to you... you did... so dont blame the guy for not trying to help you out.... And after that thread back in Feb you trying to challege Samir... I wouldnt be surprise for him to take you as a joke.

And you expect people to respect you after those comments? And what's really funny is you tout RMS as the best kit in the world and that everyone should go buy their kit, but then you even admit your 330 has blown piston rings due to RMS...???
