Just went for a cruise and here are the results:


Autometer EGT gauge with sensor installed in the collector:

At idle, engine fully warmed up 5800

Cruising around town with light traffic 8000

3rd gear 2800 rpm 40 mph 9000

4th gear 4000 rpm 75 mph 1200

4th gear 2600 rpm 50 mph 900

5th gear 3000 rpm 70 mph 1000

5th gear 3500 rpm 80 mph 1100

5th gear 4000 rpm 90 mph 1200

5th gear xxxx xxx 100 mph 1300

What is high temp or critical for egt?

How did you set up the bungs in the SS header? I think there are 4....

2-3 3rd Gear Runs 1250
Driving high rpm's for 5 minutes (pusing it on and off) 1300

I think vince said he saw around 1600 at the track...

Vince, your EGT numbers are fine for day to day driving. Did you re-dyno your new setup yet? How's the AFR chart showing?

Btw, Dan, on the track, I seldom visit the 800~900C (1472~1652F) region anymore. I have slightly larger injectors and AFR have been tuned to a tad richer on the high end. Also, note that when I peaked 900C, it was without using water injection. The WI system can bring down the EGT significantly.
