Hi all
This is my 1st post so here goes....
I have an e46 coupe and have recently put on a set of 19" Kosei alloys with 235-35-19 tyres........the car needs lowering and the consensus seems to be that Eibach springs are the ones to go for......
The question is how low do I go...Im not wanting to slam it to the ground, I'm just trying to reduce the gaping gap in between tyre and arch...
Ive settled on the advice of my local tuning shop for 45mm front, and 35 mm back...but now Im thinking I may have gone for too much of a drop...can you guys please assist..??? Is 45/30 ok or is that really low?Any advice appreciated....

why don't you leave it alone? does it look that bad without the spring kit? i'm sure the 19's take up some airspace? no?

Leaving it alone isn't an option I'm afraid...the 19's have the same rolling radius as the 16s it wore previously, so the 19s dont take up any more arch space..........and the space is noticeable and ugly.....any suggestions please?

The drop you mention sounds about right.
Which Eibach's are you going for? Eibach Sportline's are the best for the coupe's

Yep, it's Eibach sportline I'm going for....phew!!at least someone thinks its a good drop!!.....I really am hoping so!
How do I avoid excessive tyre wear?......I thought correct tyre pressure and 4 wheel alignement would do the trick??

I am thinking of going for 19's as well but i my car is the sport and has the lowered suspension already, can i lower it more with the Eibach kit ? or is the standard BMW sport suspension low enough ?
Get the Pics up when u can Turboman .......

Turboman, explain more the problem you're having with excessive tyre wear and what you've done so far, we'll try to help :)
Phil_D, if you go 19's and you have the sport suspension, you'll still need a drop. I had standard springs and I upgraded to the OEM sport springs, better, but still not good enough. Upgraded to the Eibach Prokit and have never looked back, for me, it's a perfect drop. So in short, go 19's AND get a set of springs :)

PhilD, as you've got a coupe, go for the Eibach Sportlines. I went for the Prokit as I was advised, as I have a convertible with the hardtop, the extra weight during the winter with the hardtop on would mean a lot of rubbing, the sportline gives a more agressive drop, Durgesh has them on his convertible and it looks awesome, but he doesn't have the hardtop and hence he gets away with it, lucky bugger

I used KW variant 2 coilovers and wound the adjusters on the car down fully at the back and then nearly fully at the front which was about a total of 165mm. i was running 9x19" mutecs with 235/35/19 tyre and had no problem with rubbing even with four people in.

I think you will find a 45-30 Drop with 19s will be too much i lowered mine on the pro kit 30-15 and to me it looks just about right 30 on the arse end will be too much pending on what tyre setup you are going with.Click my sig to see pics of eibach pro-kit

depends how low you want to go on coilovers you can go much lower! I had the car over the rim front and rear.

This is exactly the thread I was looking for. Nice slams, but did anyone adjust the camber to reduce tire wear? I am too low and currently scrapeing the front right. I need to pull it up some. I have the ACS spring and shock set-up. It was bought this way. Without knowing all the heights of all the different spring and shock set ups I thought I would just go with some coilovers. More money but at least I know that I can adjust it to the desired height. Any comments? Looks like the Eibach pro kit has worked well with others.

You need to get the camber done as soon as you drop it, the springs made my car nicer to drive than before so they are deffo worth it, and the camber adjustment made her a little more nimble
