I have the Vortech based ESS s/c and wondering if anyone has installed the newer ESS ASA based s/c? And for bonus points, any dyno charts??? Thanks.

It's so new I doubt anyone has it yet. Have you looked into getting the intercooler for your Vortech unit? It looks like it brings the performance up to par with the TX2. After exhaust and headers I am going to spring for it.

I take it you have the ESS. Do you have any dyno numbers?? I've tried twice on a Mustang dyno and both times the graphs were so erratic that the data was unusable. I am going to try a Dynojet dyno tomorrow. My quarter mile times and 0-60 times aren't anything to write home about. What are you getting??? Thanks

Yes, I have the ESS. I bought it used from Pimp-Boy. I have only done butt-dyno runs and the torque feels roughly comparable to the S4 (0-60 5.2s) but definitely a notch or two slower than an M3 (0-60 4.8s). I was going to run some dyno tests but it has been so hot in SoCal the past couple months, I have held off. I haven't done any timed runs, have you? If so, what times have you gotten?

I got a very realistic, accurate run on a freshly calibrated Dynojet Dyno. The shop knew their stuff so I don't doubt the results. 227 RWHP and 213 TQ. I have no codes and the engine is running perfectly. ESS says there must be something wrong with the fuel pump so I am going to replace that too and redyno. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Well,
I just happen to have gone to the dyno this morning. Since this previous post, I replaced the Mass Airflow Sensor (I found some oil residue from the K&N Filter all over the wire and thought that maybe it contaminated the sensor). ESS thought it HAD to be fuel pressure so I had a pressure gauge this time. The fuel pressure was absolutely perfect (52psi@3000 increasing to 59-60psi @ 6500rpm) and now the numbers........ :low: :low: :low: Drum roll.......... The RWHP was 239.8 and TQ = 217.3. AFR was 12.8 @ 6300 rpm. :censor: That is still well short of the claimed 270 RWHP. ESS is responding to my emails and trying to help me fix whatever it might be. I have answered their every "It's gotta be this" and I think they have run out of them.... They offered to send a mechanic over from Norway. If he shows up, I'll let you know the outcome. Stay tuned..
And, for those that are interested, PM me and I'll email you the dyno charts and data sheets. :str8pimpi

ESS just offered to make me a custom chip for my DME to bring the AFR up to specs. I'm sending my DME to Norway for an update. Hope it works.

Sorry to hear of these troubles... At least they are making an effort... that counts for something, right? :dunno:
