As some of you know, I recently just came back from my trip to ASA in Germany, I was there getting my Supercharger kit reinstalled.
Got there for Monday morning, ASA spent the whole of Monday, just unistalling the kit. Tuesday was reinstalling the kit, and wednesday spent tuning it.
I have to say a Big Thank you to all at ASA, you guys are some of the nicest guys around and the best in the business.
Not going into every little detail but; many parts were damaged because of incorrect install and had to be replaced. A piece of advice, anyone looking to do this type of performance mod, go to someone that is fully trained for the install. This will save you a lot of time and money. I can highly recommend ASA as a garage/workshop and product. These guys seriously know what they are doing, and they work is the best I have seen.
This is the Kit being taken out.

Here we are changing the internal clutch so that boost comes in at 1,200rpm and not 1,400rpm.

I count 6 ASA supercharged car's SICK.

My New Rims (... just joking... don't ask long story), but they don't look bad at all.

Who likes my boost gauge, and AFR display...?

ASA makes the superchargers in the new B7!!! for those that don't know....
With that in mind and also the fact that Alpina is only an 1hr away from ASA, we decided to pay a little visit.

Test Drive in the new B7
270kph in the Rain! We did hit 300kph, I have video.....

Believe this or not, but this is where every Alpina in the world is made, one man makes one car at a time.

All in all it was a great trip...
So we also dyno'd my car today, and I am happy to say its pushing around 320bhp, however this is on a dyno with very little air over the intercooler, having driven it all the way back from ASA, and all day today, I can say we can probably add other 10% to that.
Evotechnik SC330ci Vs Evotechnik M3, test to come soon......
Here's today's dyno...
http://www.sankeys.demon.co.uk/Dyno LF02DKD Sept 2004 lowres.JPG
Red = BHP
Green = Torque
Dotted Line = My car stock
Line = My car with ASA SC.
All in all I can say this Kit is just simply amazing, ASA also offer an entry level kit that will produce 300bhp on a 3.0L engine; its called SK Plus. I drove a Z4 with this installed, and it fast, bang for buck there is not much else out there that will beat this product.

I like your dyno numbers, which kit do you have, or what additional mods did you install to get 317

OK, This 317bhp at the flywheel, NOT at the wheels. Its still a lot better than what I had before. In the UK, I have been to 2 dyno's and they both seem to always work out flywheel figures.
Also I am sure its more than 317hp anywayz, because the fan at the Dyno place was quite smalll, and is not a good simulation of air over the intercooler.
We infact actually changed the pulley too, to the SK2 one. However ASA said because of my Right Hand Drive headers being not as good as the Left Hand Drive ones, we can not push as much power as we would like.
The car feel's a lot more than 317bhp. So I am not worried, going to test it next to an M3 soon, and see what happens.
For example, with DSC fully on, if you floor it in 1st or 2nd in the dry, the tyres spin at around 5,000 rpm  and I have 2 month old rear tyres.
ACSC30, we were also taken for a test drive in ASA's SK4, its was crazy dude. Have you got a dyno sheet for yoiurs.
Omes, We did not have time to do the AFR, will get one done soon.

Nice
so did they upgrade ur SK1 up to SK2 for free, since u already drove all the way to there??? :mischief:
I will have my dyno ready after I get my 6 speed swap :str8pimpi
been told by ASA; with their SK3 and other engine mods I have now, I should get 400hp at flywheel without any problem. of course that's if all the installation is right.

ASA I have to say gave me a fair deal, think's a little rude to disclose on a forum, Sorry.
It was not there fault that the orginal one was a bad install, but they still pulled out all the stops they could to help me.
Dude have you got headers?? If so I don't see any problem you hitting the 400bhp. Good Luck, can't wait to see it. :)

I have SS header, SS mid-pipe with racing cat, SS resonator, Schrick camshaft (Race), Dinan high flow throttle body, Ignition Solution Plasma Direct and HotInaZma hyper votage system as my engine performance mods for now.
Infinitas (ASA) was kind enough to sold their SK3 kit without their header and cat. to me.
They definitely have great customer service.
btw i am using Denso IK24 spark plugs

Nice.....ASA seem to be really cool guys. Alpina too :)
Question, did they just upgrade to the SK2 pulley or did they include injectors? How did they tune your car? Just with the Asatronic or also with their own custom software?

We changed the pulley to one smaller, I think its one more Psi of boost.
They just used the ASAtronic to tune. They don't even run software on any of SK kits!!! They have tried it once before, and the performance gains are just not there. Maybe it will be different with the US cars.. don't know. :dunno:

Glad you enjoy'd it mate,
Excuse the little giggle's at the end, or should I say at 300kph, that was a freind of mine in the back and me.
That was for sure the fastest I had ever been driven by someone else, and match's my own personal land speed record.

oh 13th September.... then it's not mine. I had mine installed in August. It's weird because the guys over there were complimenting my car's color, saying they never saw it and now there's exactly the same one (can't see the rims in the pic). I didn't have the occasion to visit the factory like you because someone else (from the local shop) drove my car . i forgot to mention in the previous post : i love your car man ! have fun with the new s/c ! you should make a video some day

that car was there, to get a TUV done, Chris was going personally with it, very spokey non BMW rims if I remember right???
I'm making a video soon, of my car vs M3... watch this space.
On the way back from a small evotechnik meet yesterday, I had a other evotechnik member in his M3 coupe SMG.
Only driver in each car, put them both in 3rd and line up at 80mph, and then floor'd it. And yes...... mine pulls away. SICK
PS please take a note also that mine is a vert manual vs a coupe smg, can't wait to go up against a manual m3 vert, will be a even bigger difference.
Car is running great, I am very very happy at the moment. Next thing Headers need to get this baby to 400bhp at the crank.
More tests to come.......

Do you have any idea what they said was wrong with the install, your problems might be common mistakes others might make over here in the states so I figured it might be good to know if you have any idea. Great thread, and it's awesome you finally got that figured out and pumping out the right amount of horses

There was far to many mistakes to even remember, 95% of them small. But together was the cause of the missing power.
Major ones are:
ASAtronic not tuned correctly, i was running too rich.
Pipe coming out of the intercooler not correctly mounted, boost leak.
Vacum pipes not going to the correct places.
Ballast from Xenon not moved to one side, to provide lots of space for intake pipe.
I think to get a good install of an ASA kit done, lots of care should be taken, even clips should be aligned correctly as not to rub on any other parts while car is running.
ASA recommend parts to have at least 1" inch movement in any direction before in contact with anything else.

Huh, thanks durgesh. Sounds like a very interesting process to get it perfect, you are making me reconsider a self install, especially with that inch play comment! I know I would screw that up...

After doing the kit twice......its really not hard. Very time consuming and you need to take your time. Figuring out what fits where first. That alone took me some time with rennsport's manual in one hand, the asa manual in the other with my parts picture on the computer screen. Wrote down alot of notes and this was before i even laid a finger on the car. If you look at my pics of what the asa kit consists of, you could pretty much figure out what goes where. Having the right tools for the job is also very important. I spent a few hundred just picking up new tools from sears. If your pretty handy with working on your car such as installing BBKs, springs/shocks, sways, some engine work etc... then you could probrably handle the ASA kit. This however is NOT for those who occasionally change their oil or install angel eyes.

Well I have done my coilover install and recently my sparco install, so I should be good. I will just have to keep doing some research, my install is a year down the road but am still doing some research. The tools part is a PAIN. Finding out you don't have the right tool and then riding in a unbolted sparco with no seatbelt to the parts store is a little unnerving :eeps: Thanks for the info guys.
