Ok guys, I know this isn't a huge deal, but should I get ARP Head Studs, or Main Studs? I purchased an AA kit, so I want to get everything else that I will need and get it all installed at once. I know the Head/Main studs are not a big deal because I will only be at 8 psi, but doesn't that just give me better odds of nothing bad happening(head gasket wise)?

there are so many supercharged bimmers on this board now. We havent really heard of any engine failures due to the superchargers(atleast ASA or AA).

Its your $ its upto you, but if we use ASA as a guideline, they dont do any internal engine modifications until Stage 4 which is supposed to out put around 400rwhp running at 0.7 bar.

The ASA stage 3 runs at 0.6 bar outputting 370rwhp, it doenst use any internal modifications, if we use it as a guideline i think you are pretty safe running 8psi of boost.

Can someone pls calculate how much 0.6bar would = in PSI?

Yeah youll be fine with just the standard kit.
But if you bulletproof your engine and run more psi. then your :str8pimpi

1 bar = 14.5 PSI
so the 0.6 bar of boost will be 8.7 PSI

I am sure your "engine" will still be ok with the AA sc.

but it will depend on how you drive and maintain your car.
never go high rpm before the oil pressure and temperature build up naturally and stay on normal level, change the engine oil regularly and never try to save one penny on the oil......etc

I would say keep the factory internal for now, and reinforce it when you really need it.

My engine is pushing 400+hp with Infinitas SK3 and some other mods now; I don't have any engine problem yet other than CEL light went on few times after installed and need a tranny. :bawling:

PS. few nice guages to monitor the engine will be a very good investment
(oil pressure, oil temp, water temp, exhaust temp or air fuel ratio)

thanks guys, just wanted to double check, I figure better safe than sorry. As for raising the boost on the AA kit, I can't do that, because it is already maxed out at 8psi. The blower would not handle more than 8 psi. And as far as gauges go, I have EGT, Oil Temp, and Oil Pressure

haha adding different bolts to the heads is not what "bulletproofing" is. it would involve replacing ALL your internals with much higher quality parts.

thanks, i know that. Rods, pistons, valve's, valvesprings, but I did not know what else to call it, so I called it Bullitproofing
