View Full Version : Phosphyre Halos + ENHANCED + REMOTE KIT GROUP BUY!
Jlevi SW
09-21-2004, 06:09 PM
Alright guys.
5 purchases minimum on this.
You get:
-Phosphyre Halos
-Enhanced upgrades (Pre-mounted on the phosphyre halos)
-Remote Kit (already installed on the wiring harness)
-Instructions for all of the above
Our everyday price on this package is $380+shipping
We're doing it for $360+shipping while supplies last.
We will be shipping with $50 insurance, to cover the unlikely event that a ring is broken in a kit. You can choose priority or express mail.
Right now, I have 2 of the kits pre-assembled. When I get a little free time, I'll assemble another 3 or 4.
Basically, here's how this will run down:
5+ people FULLY COMMIT to purchase here. If you aren't going to purchase, don't sign up. If you do sign up and don't respond to emails and PMs (other members will surely urge you to "hurry up and pay so he'll ship our stuff") and miss the group buy pricing - sorry. Don't sign up unless you are committed and ready to go on this.
Once 5+ are fully committed, I will put up a special on our site, www.jlevisw.com, and collect orders. Once 5 orders are placed, you all recieve tracking numbers the same day, and I ship all of them.
If 4 people order and then this fades away (highly unlikely, but it could happen), then you get a choice of paying the $20 difference, or a full refund.
So, let's start the list!

Nick remember when we went out to eat downtown and parked your car along the main strip?
For those of you who weren't there - we sat at the window at the restaurant across the way... a guy walked buy with his kids and wife, and Nick presses the lock button - Demon Eyes go on. The guy stops, and points to it, and calls his wife. She comes from the stoor window and by the time she arrives they've shut off. That was awesome

Good times...good times...
That's sick...it's set up to go on with the remote? I'm not up to date with these since I don't think they will be a top priority mod but I really like them.
Nick@Jlevi SW
09-22-2004, 02:27 PM
Basically the remote kit makes it so that when you unlock the car, the DDE's will fade on with the interior lights. And they will stay on until your interior lights fade out. When the car is locked you can also turn your dde's on by hitting the lock switch which fades them on.

will it work with my Orginal DDE Lightnings? Please email at budman2003@gmail.com with info if you can, I don't come around everyday like I used to.

Nick@Jlevi SW
09-22-2004, 02:44 PM
These will not increase light output or effect your light out put in anyway. They are merely a cosmetic piece. Basically they are rings that clip onto your headlights, much like neon lights and glow whenever you turn your car on. They give the car a mean stare and look absolutely incredible. Check out my sig or go to www.jlevisw.com to check them out :)

For those of you who don't know anything about the product - here's a brief summary:
-No lightboxes or messy fiberoptics
-Don't "burn out"
-20,000 hours (over 2 years) continuous life
-8000K xenon white color
-No glueing required
-Wires are thin enough to be run out of the back of the headlight - no drilling of holes is necessary
-3x brighter than any other technology

The rings are the same basic color, just diffused a little bit.
The rings will either always work or you have a wiring problem. Something may be loose.
Note to you guys:
-I will have more kits assembled and ready to rock by... Friday most likely. Saturday is a religious holiday (yom kippur) for me, so most likely I will ship by monday.
This is, of course, if I recieve payment from 5+ individuals.

I just have one single question, and it's probably dumb, but i've never found an answer. When are the halo's on? I know they fade in/out with the remote kit. But are the halo's set up to always be on when the car is on? Or do they go on with the fogs? Or is there an extra switch you install to get them to turn on?
I would probably rather have them always on rather then on with the foglights since i dont' use my fogs that much. So when i hook them up, at what times will the halo's be lit up? Thanks!

I got them off bitharvest (fellow e46fanatic). Got it installed professionally, took them half a day to install cuz they were scared to break neon ring. They said it couldnt b done in 2 hrs, is it that hard to install? Mine didnt come with the neon rings mounted to the enhanced plastic part, so dont know what version of rings i received. One ring went out and another ring was kinda flickering at lower level, but now suddenly its ok!! :hmm: Can u help?

I'm extremely interested in this. However, just like everyone I have a few questions I was hoping you can answer for me. To my understanding the E46 had a 'facelift' after the manufacturing year of 2002. I currently have a 2004. Will installation be affected by this? How much 'abuse' can the halos take? Are they brittle? I'm just afraid I'm going to do something stupid like drop it while installing it or something... Last question, I also have xenon headlights OEM on the car arleady. Will this affect the installation? Sorry for all these questions, I just want to rather be sure than always have lingering questions in my head. Thanks in advance!
Jlevi SW

-Installation is easy: These kits come with a printed installation guide, and a printed card detailing the link and password for the remote kit installation guide (full color pictures on this one). Most people can accomplish this installation in well under 2 hours.
-We are fully stocked (I'm up to my ears in halos)
-I will put the link up in a minute, I need to ship a few items first. I'll assemble more sets while waiting for 5+people to pay. Maybe we can ship as early as tomorrow if 5 of you pay by then. Otherwise, they all go out Monday
-These halos fit ALL E46's besides 2004 COUPEs - we have a different version for the 04 coupe. They will work just fine with xenons. In some facelift sedans, you need to shave down the headlight trim a little bit to clear the enhanced upgrades - other than that, no problems.
-The halos turn on via fog lights or ECU. With the ECU, they go on when the key is in position 2, and go off 10 seconds after the car is shut off. You can put in a custom switch if you ever have the desire to turn them off. We can provide you with a full DIY if you wish to do so.
-If you drop them during installation, they WILL break. The enhanced covers protect them from clumby hands or trying to "stretch" them to fit on, but they ARE glass - so act accordingly.
Let me ship real quick then I'll put up a specialized ordering page for you guys.

All your electrical components "flicker" when you start the engine whether you see it or not - because the alternator is kicking in and pumping more juice in. The halos flick brighter and stay bright once you give them that increased 14V (more like 13.6V in reality) flow

Hi I'm completely new to the site and never got into Mods and stuff until my girlfriend dragged me off to a BMW meet in Atlanta recently and man some of those cars looked great. I must say that now I'm very interested in mods now. I have to look better than her right :)
But anyway I'm very interested in getting this along with the Interior xenon kit as well. Now these may be dumb questions but...
It is easy to install, I have no experience with cars whatsoever. I would like to install them without her help or knowing
I still have the daytime running lights on, do these replace those or should I get those turned off, since the Daytime lights are regular bulbs not xenon's and I don't think it would look "right" ?
Is it better to get this done by a pro or do it yourself I don't want to screw anything up in my car? Any good shops in Augusta or do I have to drive up to ATL or Columbia to get this stuff done?
Once I pay (I'm looking to buy this stuff today) how fast can you ship it here or what's the average time?
Thanks
And if anyone else has suggestions for mods feel free to tell me please.
Payment has been sent JL. It sucks that i had to pay almost $40 extra b/c of tax and shipping even though i probably live within 25/30 minutes of you  I guess for the shipping, it's cheaper to pay it then it probably would be to drive and pickup b/c of gas and time. Oh well, it's still saving me $20
Funny thing is that i was talking to my girlfriend about doing the exact same package from you about 1 hour before you posted the GB, talk about a coincidence :lmao: Just gave me the incentive to go ahead with the purchase.
Anyways, really looking forward to these, let me know when they're in the mail. Thanks.

[JSW]With the provided instruction guide, it shouldn't take you more than an hour - 90 minutes tops.
I still have the daytime running lights on, do these replace those or should I get those turned off, since the Daytime lights are regular bulbs not xenon's and I don't think it would look "right" ?
[JSW]Get them turned off at your dealership - takes no time at all and it's a good opportunity to get some cool features programmed in
Is it better to get this done by a pro or do it yourself I don't want to screw anything up in my car? Any good shops in Augusta or do I have to drive up to ATL or Columbia to get this stuff done?
[JSW]DIY installs are always fun - if you have the basic tools, a workplace, and GENTLE hands, this install is a nice way to learn a little about your lights. If you've spent the last 10 years pumping iron and doing manual labor at San Quentin... maybe this isn't for you
Once I pay (I'm looking to buy this stuff today) how fast can you ship it here or what's the average time?
[JSW]As soon as 5 people buy (you would be the 5th), I can ship. If that's by tomorrow, then tomorrow I'll ship (If I have time... it IS a friday night). Regardless, they all go out monday, and will be there within 3 days. If you opt to pay for express mail, I can have it there in about a day.
Thanks

No offense, but this isnt much of a group buy. I can get the enhanced halos from M3motorwerks for 348.95 shipped (free shipping and they dont charge tax) + your remote kit from you for 44.84 shipped = $393.79 which is cheaper than buying at your groupbuy price which is $397.45 with tax and shipping. I guess this would only be a good price for those who are out of state - the state tax really kills me. Oh well

Basically, this group buy is like this:
You buy the enhanced halos at regular price, I throw in a remote kit for half price, and you save on shipping (besides having everything pre-assembled).
If it doesn't work for you because of sales tax, so be it :dunno:

Wow. I wasn't expecting to say this for another week - but I only have one set of DDEs left. I'm expecting more on Tuesday, then I'll have to pre-install the remote kits.
According to my website's ordering system, I should have a check for that last set coming, so unless someone pays for it before I get the check (I'll probably pick it up Monday) - it's spoken for.
That may seem unfair, but I have to ship based on the order I recieve payment, as opposed to the order in which I recieve the order online.
This prevents people from ordering, expecting me to hold the order, and sending the check a week later.
Last set until Tuesday ;)
Also, some of you have already had the kits delivered. I think one of you guys (In mountain view) ordered at 4PM on the 24th and had the item delivered at 1:30PM on the 25th... that's pretty incredible if you ask me :D

Doesn't really matter if you mount them or we mount them. They should be the same color. The rings should always work no matter what, or you have an install problem ;)

not yet, but i'm sure it will be done.
Depending on the diameters of the circles, I may actually have a kit in stock that would fit your car....

Also, some of you have already had the kits delivered. I think one of you guys (In mountain view) ordered at 4PM on the 24th and had the item delivered at 1:30PM on the 25th... that's pretty incredible if you ask me :D

I was gone during the weekend and when I got home my kit was there :P . Now I just need some time to install it! It may be a week or two before I get to it :hmm:

-The halos turn on via fog lights or ECU. With the ECU, they go on when the key is in position 2, and go off 10 seconds after the car is shut off. You can put in a custom switch if you ever have the desire to turn them off. We can provide you with a full DIY if you wish to do so.
How do you program the halos to come on w/ the ECU?

Wow. We had a little spike today and 3 kits walked out of here. We're out of stock on the remote kits - but fear not... more of the parts will be here Friday.. and I'll have to hire some help to assemble a couple for me to make it through the next week. We've only got 2 or so DDE kits (I picked up 5 more last night!) , so I may just have to end the GB early - I can't keep up with you guys!
VENDETTABMW - Paypal accepts credit card (instantly I believe) - but since the remote kits are not in stock, I'm afraid I can't ship till beginning of next week anyways. You can, however, install these yourself without a problem.
ACS ToPaZ 325i - It's a matter of wiring. The instructions we provide show you how to wire to the accessory wire :)

jlevi,
Since I live in Sweden, would it be possible for you to ship by ex. UPS on my account?
The company I work for has accounts with UPS/Fedex/TNT etc.
Would be a bit cheaper freight costs for me that way, but if it's complicated for you I understand.
Thanks,
Joakim
(btw - is it still ok to place an order for these?)

Another spike of orders. We shipped our last 2 today, and we're waiting on YET ANOTHER shipment.
We have about 40 remote kits made (I hired some great assistance to help out and pump them all out tonight! :thanks: )
Anyways, I've got 3 more orders sitting on my desk, which will go out on Monday.
Thanks guys

News on the GB:
I have 50 remote kits ready to go.
I have 3 labels on my desk for you guys, Gana Khalif, John Beumer, and Colin Vozeh,
USPS is delivering me 10 DDE kits which should have been here Friday, but I guess the box was too big, so it's delayed. I'm hoping to recieve it MONDAY, then throw the remote kits on the harness, and ship out. If they delay too much I'll have some DDEs drop-shipped from another location :)
Thanks for your patience

I broke 3 rings  while I was trying to clip them to the headlamps.
I wasn't happy with how they were clipping. On the xenon side one end clips ok, but the other seems real loose. Both clips a loose on the high beam side. Should the clips go all the way back or just to the first groove?? Will the inner silver headlamp trip hold them in place when I put things back together?
Also, getting the headlamps unscrewed was a b1tch. There's no way to fit a wrench to remove the bottom screws, I had to find a thin screwdriver with and end to fit the 8mm socket. I lost an 8mm socket in the process, it's now somewhere on the bottom of my car. Can't the halos be installed without taking the whole headlamp off? I saw a DIY on taking the cover off witout unscrewing the thing.
Guess I'll need to order some more rings :dunno:. This is painful.

Your rings is not working too?
I just installed mine and 2 of the rings is not working. I guess I have to wait and get new rings. Dang it
all the waiting and all the hassle of installing.
Jlevi SW
10-03-2004, 05:20 PM
You should NOT take your headlight out to install the halos!!!!! Also, do NOT put the clips on the 2nd notch - that causes them to break :(
We are ordering a bunch of replacement rings and hope to have them by Tuesday.

I installed mine last night, worked fine. Drove around for a while, got back and still worked. Woke up next day...not working, none of them?? Possibly bad balast but not sure. Possibly a manufacturing mistake?? Not sure though.
TommyX4437

maybe one of your connection is loose. Check around... The ballast wouldnt burn out that quick.

or Check the ground connection. Once it happened to me, I move the source of ground connection and it worked again. Or maybe there's a loose wire connection somewhere. :dunno:
Jlevi SW
10-03-2004, 11:30 PM
All of the above are very valid checkpoints.
I'm worried about the fact that you say the ballasts are getting real hot. There may be a short (i.e. the gold connectors touching the chassis) which would cause problems.

The kit was honestly the easiest damn thing to wire up. It was no hastle at all. Hardest part of the whole project was #1, removing the damn trim piece under the headlight, and #2, cliping the lights on all the way without breaking them.

Vigilance is the key, my son ;)
Or, just subscribe to our newsletter in your user profile on our site ;)
We send out a regular email of "Special Offers" where we list the special tricks and deals you can get on our site. Did you know, for example, that if you mention your E46Fanatics username in the Comments section of your 6000K HID order, you get a $15 refund? :wow:
We do NOT sell out email addresses, or spam. We just send out info regarding sales and deals. If our sponsor cars get into magazines or win shows, we might send you links to articles or something - I'm still on the fence about that... not sure if that's considered "spamming" :dunno:
Ok, time to go ship your order ;)

I may be able to make exceptions for certain circumstances, but the group buy is technically over ;)
