I'm officially done with Open Road BMW after the sold me a car with a cracked spare rim. I've been going to Essex BMW Lately and they treat me pretty good but there not to cool about stuff that didn't come on your car.

I want to get a new LCM programmed, the one with the auto lights on my car, so that I can do the LED retrofit but I don't think they'll do it. There really anal about that stuff. anybody know any relaxed dealers or side shops.

I bought my car at JMK in Springfield, and have had all my service done there. They have been great so far, sales and service dept. I definetly recommend them. Stay away from Park ave service dept.

I have had a few good experiences with Morristown BMW even though I bought mine Upstate NY. I have heard and read only good things about JMK. Check out http://www.dealerrater.com/

I bought my car from Open Road (CPO) but I've never had service done there.
For service I go to Prestige BMW in Ramsey. They're cool.

JMK rules! but they couldn't reprogram the dash lights after I did my LED retrofit. I just rewired the outer rings to work, this took off the dash lights.

jan, your outter rings work? you have to show me how you did this. i love the way your led's strobe when you start your car. looks real custom.

I'll second that.

Also I wouldn't advise going to Denville BMW as well. They're extremely small and very cocky and rude, especially for the guys of our age group.

Another great BMW dealership is Princeton BMW. I dont just like it because that is where I bought my car, they know a lot about M3s and the body shop for it is the Porsche dealership across the street which is another great facility. The people are cool and they have many models in stock.

Flemington has always been honest and good to me. This is my 5th BMW from them. Their parking is a little tight but they are building a building seperate from VW/PORSCHE/AUDI across the street and will move in by March. They've always turned their heads the other way when they saw my mods and still covered things that other dealers maybe wouldn't.

Park Ave treats my family like royalty...they ****ed up on the order of one of our cars and the service department has been continually making it up to us...free cd changers, free handbrakes, mats etc...they do a good job servicing my car as well

i bought my car CPO from Park Ave..brought it in for service twice since...not crazy about their service...first time was because one of my brake lines was leaking fluid and my "brake" and "traction control lights" were on, after i had only put 1K miles on the car...i called for an appointment, they told me 2 weeks and that it was safe to continue driving the car with those lights on...i felt uneasy since it was the brake light and called back to bring it in immediately...brake fluid was dangerously low and they fixed it for free and said they f'd up during the CPO process and didn't reconnect the brake line properly...

second time was for a control arm bushing replacement, and in addition, i told my SA that the clutch pedal felt weird, and that i was getting some vibration while it was depressed...nothing major, but could they take a look at it...he IMMEDIATELY told me that since i had Dinan software that my clutch warranty was void and they wouldn't even consider it...i politely told him that the software has nothing to do w/the clutch and could you just take a look at it....when i picked it up, the clutch request wasn't even on the invoice... to their credit, bushings were replaced under warranty...

i'm going to try Wide World of Cars in Nanuet...i've heard good things about them... :dunno:

PARK Ave. BMW in Maywood?

I will never again take my car there, the first and last time I took my car there I got it back with 500 more miles then when I brought the car in and they kept my car for 9 days on something that would take about 3 hours to do supposedly waiting on parts, I had such a bad experience there that they will never have me as a customer.

Hey Jeff43...is your clutch still having problems...I recently took my car to Park Ave. and had them check a grinding noise from the rear axle and the SA was giving me some bull about "Swaybar bushings being wore out"..because of my suspension..I told him the noise is coming from the "REAR AXLE", what does the swaybar have to do with axle...and the technician left a can of lube spray inside my car...unfortunately, I'm giving them another chance to look at my rear axle and do the recall for the connecting push rods...this is my 3rd time that I'll take it to them..if they fail, it will be time to put them on "FULL-BLAST"

I second that for Princeton BMW, I have had nothing but great service from them. Replaced my clutch for free under the maintenance warranty (and didnt even question it). I have some mods on my car and instead of being a$$ about about it the techs loved them and would ask me about them. Last time I came there one was LOVED the DDE's. They had no problem flashing my car for zenons and even leveling them for me.

Agreed, they gave me a hard time about installing my Hamann rear spoiler. But, overall not a bad experience.

Prestige BMW imho has the best service experience. Difeo was by far the worst.

I've had the opposite happen at Essex. They were impressed and interested in the mods, not upset over them. Who were the offending SAs?

Got my 325 from DiFeo. Very happy with the service, but one time I got a minivan loaner even though they reserved a real car ahead of time. And they would not deal on an 05 ZHP and lost my business

Just ordered a ZHP from Mark Carvalho at JMK

Got my 325i from Morristown BMW, had a great experiance there. Had all my service done at Paul Miller, and never had a problem. Don't have any significant mods on my car though.

Got my car from Pat @ Morristown BMW. Dad just got an X3 from him as well. The best prices around. Tell his Fasul sent you he'll hook you up.

Service used to suck, but the got a new manager and ancillary staff. Its now as good if not better than JMK. Their loaner cars are all BMW, Ive gotten a brand new Z4 3.0, and some fairly new 330i as loaners. They even have a few manuals.

Whats the minimum age around these NJ dealers to get a loaner car?

And does anyone know what would happen if I took my car into Morristown BMW instead of Denville BMW? Would I get a loaner from Morristown if I bought it from Denville? I hear the same owner owns both...so it would be possible.

I have never had a problem with Denville BMW. But then again I only have 9k on my car and it's a 2002. I just go there for basic service.

I'll second that.

Also I wouldn't advise going to Denville BMW as well. They're extremely small and very cocky and rude, especially for the guys of our age group.

I was thinking about trying Morristown BMW because Essex has been getting really shabby on me and i've been back 4 times for the same problem. The only real issue I have with Morristown is that it is owned by the Same guy who Owns Open Road BMW which I royally hate. They screwed me over so bad sales and service wise that I vowed never to go back. He also owns Denville BMW so this really limits my choices. Haha. I might fold and go to morristown though. We'll see. I'm giving essex one last shot at this ticking noise.
