Would it work if I bought the CF peice and the rings?
Cuz it says the CF only works with the factory rings....I'll buy this product for sure if the rings and CF work together. Just not sure whether to get silver or black...To see pics of it in the e46, go to bimmian and click the carbon fibre tab. They got a new site and have pics to give you a better idea. Prices from Revi are lower tho... :shhh:
Thanks
ALSO, is it possible to get the CF without the M emblem??

REVI MotorWerks
10-16-2004, 06:02 PM
As the title says "Yes we do provide installation guide!"
And the CF Bezel and Chrome Rings works GREAT together. If you read carefully, it's the one with factory Silver Rings that need to take it off before installing the CF Bezel, BUT if you don't have the factory silver rings, then CF Bezel and Chrome Rings that we sell works EXCELLENT together and easier on the installation too.
Sorry, we DO NOT sell Silver Rings as stated in the first post.

It's limited time offer, we will offer it for about 2 weeks or so. Yes, you can, you will take off the Rings first and install the CF Bezel and put the rings back on. So whether you have Rings factory equipped or not, the procedure on installing it is always:
1. CF Bezel on
2. Rings on top of the CF Bezel

Hey Cat,
Glad to know you have received it :)
If you might take the CF Bezel off later time, then you CAN'T peel off the 3M backing to put it on, because once it's on, since you can't take off the clear plastic cover of the gauge cluster, you will have hard time getting it off. So, it's simple, just use double side tape, regular one, not super strong one and you can put on and off any time.

Anyone who has received the bezel and rings care to share tips on installing? I'm concerned about peeling the backing off then 'folding' this thing to get it through the hole and trying to align it correctly without it sticking to itself or sticking on the cluster in the wrong position.
In fact if you look at the picture of it installed here that was posted as a sample - it is crooked as h*ll. Just look at the bottom edge and how it lines up with the cluster surface. That would bug me to no end seeing that every day!!!

Finally just went ahead and pulled the cluster and installed the bezel and rings. It was a breeze. Sort of embarassed that I was so intimidated by the job! My bezel fit perfectly and is not crooked like the one in the sample picture.
The only thing that would have been helpful is to have known that the 2 connectors on the back of the cluster have 'lock down levers' that need to be flipped back before the plugs will come out. It's real hard to see back there and I kept gently tugging and the connectors weren't budging. Once I realized they had the 'levers' I just flipped them down and the plugs came right out.
Eliminating the wasted tug time the job only took 15 min.
Looks GREAT. Nice quality product - very precisely die cut on the bezel and nice quality for the rings. Just the right amount of 'pre-glue' to set them securely without getting messy.
Recommended mod. Recommended price!

Does anyone know how to install the bezel and rings? I didn't recieve any instructions and i have my dash in my hands right now trying to figure out how to open this thing....please help asap!!!
Take the guts (electronics) out by removing the torx screws. Since you cannot remove the 'plexiglass' lens from the front of the cluster face you have to bend the bezel without letting it stick to itself and pass it through one of the large gauge openings. Once it is inside let it open up and fall against the cluster face and slowly and carefully flatten it out into position around the gauge and other openings. Then press it against the plastic so it sticks securely.
Then insert the rings through each opening one at a time and press each back into the beveled opening being sure to make sure the flat bottom of each ring is straight. Press each once positioned properly to secure each with it's adhesive.
Then you are done. Before you reassemble the cluster make sure you did not leave any fingerprints on the inside of the lens or the bezel or the rings.

Does anybody know how to install the bezel and/or the rings, I have NO CLUE, any help is appreciated.

You have to unscrew a whole bunch of screws starting with the first two on the top part of the dash. Remove the whole dash and then there are about 5 or 6 screws to undo from the rear of the gauges. Then you can take out the 2 little black buttons you push to reset your distance travelled and adjust the clock - don't know what they're called...) You gotta put the bezel on first through the speedo or tach. You can bend it slightly. I was worried at first but it doesn't bend permanently. Don't forget to remove the backing of the adhesive before putting it through the tach/speedo. Once you have that, put the gauge rings through the speedo and tach and stick em. They have adhesive on them already. Screw the 6 screws back, put the gauges back in and screw the 2 final screws and you're done.
I'm 17 and I completely wung this installation so I'm sure you'll be fine. Took me about 45 minutes and that's with me not knowing jack. I figured it out along the way. Good luck

What did those that already had the rings on their cluster from factory use to re-attach them cluster after they put on the benzel? I mean is there some glue to use?

No- you don't have to disconnect the battery for this mod. The only thing you disconnect are the two wire harnesses behind that gauges themselves.

Any Chrome Gauge Rings for an E46 still available?
installed my cf gauge bezel and chrome rings today. question for ppl who have installed the cf gauge bezel, does the bezel not fit perfect around the turn signals indicators? i installed mine and it fits everywhere perfectly except around the turn arrows. it seems like the arrow is cut too large. from the pics i saw earlier in this thread, it appears it has happened to other ppl as well. when you signal, you will see a shadow from the bezel.
anyone else have this problem?

but i had installed another set on my boy's car and they came out strait so i guess it's just the cut :dunno: but i like mine they covered the mess i left when i put my first set of rings on with crazt glue lol that s hit went everywhere so i was glad to see revi came out with this great deal and the fastest shipping i have ever seen

did your turn signal arrows line up with the bezel or are they off a little?

well I hadn't noticed before, but yes there is a slight misalignment of the turn indicator arrows. It is however, slight.

ok glad it's not my install then. it's not noticable during the day but at night, when you signal, you will see a little shadow from the bezel. not too bad but it's like a a smal piece of the bezel is getting in the way of the green turn arrow. looking at the earlier install pics, it looks pretty common. anyone get a perfect install with no interference on the turn arrows?

I ordered them, and they fit perfectly with no problem, But make sure you shine the rings to get off any finger prints after they're installed. Mine also came with glue pre-applied.
