I've got the HK system in my 330Ci and I'm replacing everything with an aftermarket system (Apline 9827,5 1/4" MB Quart mids and tweeds in front and rear, JL 4 channel amp, JL mono amp, 2 12" JL subs). I'm wondering about the wiring for the doors. Has anyone tried wiring quality speaker wire into the door, or do you just make use of the existing stock wires already there? If you do use the existing line, is there an ideal place to tap into in with the line from the aftermarket amp? any assist. is appreciated

it is a pain in the A55 to run new wires. just use the existing BMW wires.
are you installing yourself?

i'm still up in the air about doing the install myself. I've done full installs on my previous cars (both were mustangs), but I'm nervous with the bimmer.

if you've done installs before, you should be fine.
just buy the "right" equipment and find wiring diagram and you are all set to go.

The E46s are actually pretty easy.
