After more than four weeks waiting for new parts from ESS and doing this install by myself, I finally finished with this project. I am very pleased with the result. Here are some pics that I took earlier. Right away, I can feel the additional power. I can't wait until the software adapt to the SC system. :woot:

BTW, it is common for the service engine light to come up after installing the SC. I got four errors codes and went to AutoZone to get them reset for me. Since then, no more error codes. The error codes were P0304, P0302, P0300, P0150. :hmm:

Yeah, I know what the codes are. The thing that I am curious about is that the car seem to be running fine. After I got the error codes reset, the SES light has not come up again :hmm: If I am still misfiring, would the SES come back up again?

Great job! I admire folks who DIY their SC kits.

Yup, P03XX are misfire related. P0150 is O2 sensor 1 malfunction bank2.

Also note that it takes up to 2 consecutive OBD cycles for the CEL to come on again. I have always been preaching this: no CEL does not imply no codes.

Vince,
So how do I know if I am still getting misfiring when the car seem to be running fine? I have taking my car out for a drive twice since resetting the error codes both time reaching 80 plus miles and no problem and no SES light. BTW, both O2 sensors have been replaced not too long ago.

Doug,

You need to monitor pending codes status. Not all OBD testing devices have this feature. GT1 certainly do.

An OBD cycle is not starting the engine, driving around and shutting it off. The cycle involves a set of procedures that is setforth by CARB. I need to dig out the procedures from somewhere. Do a google search. But yes, one thing is certain, any misfires will trigger the CEL immediately. What I was referring to are codes not related to misfires. I presume you have changed your plugs to a colder stage as well?

That being said, if your ECU is tuned by ESS then all codes should be taken care off. Just enjoy driving your car. ;)

Vince,
Could the two misfires are because of the initial start-up of the engine with new the injectors? Not enough fuel gone thru the injectors causing misfire. I blew all the fuel back to the gas tank prior to changing out the injectors hence it take a few seconds for the system to fully charged. As for the plugs, I changed them out about 20K miles ago. Hans from ESS told me I don't need new plugs with this system but I am planning on changing out anyway. Do you have any recommendation? Yes, my ECU was reprogramed by ESS. It took almost three weeks.

Thanks  Have you had any problem since the install? We should start an ESS SC thread.
