hey guys i have been a fanatic member almost 3 years ever since i bought my 325i in 2002 and ever since i bought it i have been moding it The first thing i evEr did was intake and exhaust AND THAT GOT VERY OLD AND WAS NEVER ENOUG POWER WISE. my car was a steptronic for 2 years and hated it it was just 2 slow so i started to buy parts for a 5 speed swap took me 3 months to find all parts and cost me $2,500 for everything including uuc stage 2 flywheel and spec stage 2 clutch . after i was done i realised one thing this 2.5 motor has alot of potential especialy with a 3.46 differential it was very fast had no problem keeping up with 330i . but then few months later i wanted more power since my last car 1998 civic ex with a gsr engine was boosted ran 13s all day long. so i was set on purchasing a supercharger for my car and i did last month i bought everything and installed it myself over 2 week time yes might seem like a loong time for a supercharger install but i work full time so time is something that i dont have alot . but yesterday saturday i findly got it running and let me tell you this thing is beast i never realized how fast this 2.5 motor can be it puts a smile on my face everytime i smash the throttle. there is absoluttly no traction through 3 rd gear. and engine sounds like a v8. anyway just wanted to share my good feeling with fellow fanatics here. i have a few questions like does anyone no how to get the back up lights to work after 5 speed swap. and how to get rid off check engine light to go away been ther since the swap... CAN anyone tell me how to get pictures in the post i want share pictures of my car and engine but i have no idea on this . anyway i would recomend a 3.46 diferential and a supercharger to anyone the best thing for your car and a must have .
Congrats on getting blown :)
Do you have a code reader? what are the Pcodes?

The car needs to be re-programmed with the BMW dealer computer to make it realize it is a 5-speed now. It still thinks it is an automatic, and without seeing the automatic computer, it sets the CE light. Likewise, signalling the reverse lights is a revised function.

What else do you have on the engine besides the supercharger?? Cause you won't gain 270rwhp with just a stage one supercharger on a 325. Congrats on the S/C though.

I dont think he said hes making that much HP. Im just saying -270rwhp and he has no traction through 3rd gear is just unbelievable.

Oh ok, you would get 270 rwhp with a stage one supercharger on a 330 or you would get close to it. Cause I'm looking to S/c my 330i, but I have steptronic and I'm wondering how many problems people have with their S/c cause I need my car everyday for my job.

Ya, i was just giving him more numbers to work with. Do the stage 1 325 SC's give out -250rwhp?

Well find out the HP output for the 325 supercharged and minus 70~80hp off it and thats most likely ur real wheel horsepower. Now with M3's, its only minus ~50hp, due to the ability to rev at higher rpms.

is swapping auto to manual as simple as that? just swap gearbox and retune the ecu? what about abs? do u need to change the instrument binnacle to one from a manual?

There is no stage 1 from ESS only stage 2 which is said to put out 310 so subtract the 75 and you get around 235

He's talking about traction issues that the supercharger causes when combined with a 3.46 differential. I believe it totally and I can't wait to one day have a kit myself. Headers, cams, ecu, 3.46 is going in in 2 weeks, but I can already tell it is just going to make me want a SC so much more.

I still dont believe 240rwhp will let you lose traction through 3rd gear just by smashing the gas. He would need alot more then 3.46 to let him do that.

There really shouldnt be any problems with the ESS kits especially if you run our Step softwares .
That is one of the reasons I bought an auto with my 325 , its insane .

Your correct there is only stage 2 for the 325 and it is 310
so subtract the 75 and you get around 235
But your incorrect on here .
You divide .85 on 5 speed from rear wheel to the crank , and you multiply .85 from crank to the rear wheel .
About 15%
On automatic its .80
So he should have at least 260 to 265 RHP

Easier said than done; I am in a downtown highrise, and I will definitely DIY this! So, I need to wait until I can evict a friend from his garage/driveway in the suburbs.... :) Couldn't wait much longer with the purchase, though, because of the timing of last December's group buy and pricematch offers.
