You pretty much have to take everything apart to gain access to the alternator. Go to my330i.com and look under ESS install. It tells what you had to take apart.

Sorry I can't really help you out :banghead: .... but just curious what the symptoms of a bad alternator are? Thanks man!I just bought a new battery and it drained out in a week, so I'm thinking it's the alternator since they usually go pretty quick. I already have 70k on my car. :bawling:

Take your car to autozone or similare...they should be able to test it.

I *think* you can multi-meter your battery while the car is running and you should get 14v reading if the alt is good.

Do you think the DDE's can drain the battery??? To sum it up, I drove the car yesterday, got home and chilled for 1 hour, then went to the car but it wouldn't start. The light just flickered... Also the previous day, the car hesitated cranking, then started. It did that twice. Could it be sign of a weak battery? I also had the new battery recharged at autozone yesterday. :hmm:

yea, my alternator died at like 40ish. Had zolti take the whole blower out to put one in, and guess what.... the one he put in also happened to be bad. So that sucked. SO we thought it was another problem with my electrical system at first, but with after checking EVERYTHING, it had to be the alternator, so he took that one out, and put in ANOTHER one. yea... talk about labor. Anyways, it was the alternator. and yes, it does suck. It is alot of sh it to remove when you have a blower. have fun

Have you been messin' with the battery?

You have symptoms of a bad ground wire to the battery. Check to make sure all of the connections to the battery are tight. This happened to me on my Chevy truck. A bad ground can destroy your battery and your alternator.
