well... i've been reading a lot and i am thinking....

Should i add a SC inistalled for over $7000ish+ or pay $9,999 for a new Honda CBR1000?

I'd love to SC my car... becuase i can have that power rain or shine 365 days a year. or .... i an get a bike that will outrun just about any car... but i won't get as much use out of it. I miss having my motorcycle... but I'm not sure what i want right now. What are your thoughts?

your insurance is gonna be outrageous for a motorcycle seeing as you were in an accident on one, thats just my $.02

ok... just to play devil's advocate... but you guys with the SC comments... how many of you have ridden a bike? you'd stop modding your car i'd imagine if you had a bike :) but i'm keeping an open mind at this point.
insurance wouldn't be too bad... i was paying $50 a month in PA through State Farm insurance company

bikes are nice .. but you have a better shot of living in a car going fast than a bike going fast.

not necessarily true... I crashed at 40 mph... full leathers and helmet... i didn't get a scratch on my body... just some sprained joints (minor) if you wreck in either you're going to be in trouble at high speeds

....but i understand the train of thought.... the steel cage around you in a car is deceptive... but it does help

.... now... my wife is against me getting a bike again... but she said i can do it. it's something that i'll have to think about i guess. just with the weather around here the past few years i think i might be better off with the SC since we're getting as much rain as seattle

Very true, highway statistics prove it... Go fast enough and you're gonna die no matter what your driving though...

since you have a manual, s/c it for sure. if you had a step, I would say go for the bike, but you for sure wont be disappointed with that s/c.

I had a bike too, but just sold it. In your case I would supercharge. You have a wife and shite so you dont want to be in a bad situation where you are fd for life. I prob wont get another bike either and just count my blessings. GL with whatever you choose

2 thoughts:

1. I've had bikes, they are a blast! Putting $10k into a bike and selling it three years later you'd get a solid $7k back, costing you $3k to ride for 3 years.

2. $7k for a s/c and selling your car three years later it won't be worth a lot more with the s/c than without, maybe $1k-$2k more. So it would cost you $5k-6k for the sc for 3 years.

Thats just my take on the financial side. Even after looking at that I'd go s/c because regardless of what you say, bikes are more dangerous. I've seen low speed accidents cause some major damage to the rider. Especially when you get people driving around you who don't pay attention. The worst wrecks really aren't your fault, it's the fault of someone who didnt see you.

Think of a car running a red light and t-boning you at 25 MPH. In the car you'd most likely be fine, especially if they hit the passenger side (assuming no one is with you). On the bike 25 mph t-bone is going to hurt like s**t and really mess you up.

Like everyone else, just my $.02. I'd go s/c though and count my blessings that the 40 mph crash you had didnt cause any damage and consider myself lucky!

have fun either way!
