actually if he knows how to drive and has a good clutch... he will probably win... you have an edge in WHP but his car weighs 300lbs less if its a coupe... wait... is his car a coupe?

how did you dyno at 293 without exhaust ?

My bestfriend has a euro motor in a 318ti. Those things are fast personally, those things are 13.1 stock in a regular m3 in germany. If he has a good clutch and depending on the rear he should beat you.

That's not true!

A stock M3 3.2 evo (1996-1999) does 1/4-mile in 14.1 seconds. E46 M3 will hand the E36 it's a$$...

I've driven both and witnessed numerous 1/4 runs on E36 M3s in Europe.

It's not always about the peak HP figure either. ASA'd 330 has a very nice powerband. ;)

TORQUE TORQUE TORQUE I personally think that you will rape him. You have a large ammount of unsprung weight with those hammann wheels though. That might hurt you, ALOT.

Well thanks guys for your opinions. His car is a coupe. And he'es got a 3:15 lsd diff, clutch and light weight flywheel. He wants his (belt) back because I raped him when he was just a reg M3, Now he changed his engin to the euro.LOL

I live in toronto and did my dyno here. I also did it in 4th gear. It was really cold that day. I have my A/F set at 5-1/2. 3:15 Diff,

Temps today are -25 without windshild (with (-32)

yeah those euros got 321hp

I think it will be really really close.

Wait a minute... He's got a 3.15 in the M? What's up with that? :hmm:
It must be slow as hell compared to a stock euro M3...

what kinda rear end does the stock euro E36 M3 have?

i still think his lower weight will be the deciding factor... even though it will be very close...

also depends on driver skill...

I don't know what the euro m3 has but he had a 3:15 in from his old M3.

and the read line in a euro is 7800. whats funny is he has the 328 cluster and it reads only till 7000 I think.

I believe the e36 euro m3's are faster than the e46 m3's because of how light they are. With a 3.15 diff he shouldnt beat you.

Wait, isnt there a difference between normal M3's and the old evos's. The evo's had a huge HP bump as well as a huge weight drop. If this is the 3.2 from the Euro i wouldnt even try. He will walk on you. If you get a 3.38 you would have a much better chance. The e36 M3 Evos were faster than teh current M3. The were balls to the wall race cars, alot like the e30 m3, RIP.

i think the 330 will win for sure.. I have seen a 330 ASA bury an e36 euro m3.... he may be lighter but my money is on u... but that all also depends on how good of a driver you are...
