Do you think it's pimp to debadge the rear deck. I have a 325xi and I'm just curious if you think it might be pretensious because people might think I'm just taking it off because it's not a 330. But curious as to your opinions on the "clean" look of the rear deck.

I used to think that I would never debadge. But was bored and decided I would just try it for kicks one day, it looks 100000x better

Damn - you called me out! I was a lazy bastard and didn't even do a search (I usually do a search b4 starting a new thread). :repost: My bad peeps. But thanks for the feedback thus far.
That's a cool idea to spray it black. The black glossy on black might look hot - or maybe i'll do a greyish (but that might look to Lexus-like). I guess I can always put them back on without much trouble.
SOLD! 325xi soon to be debadged!!!!

First off - extremely funny comment regarding the "hard-wood-floor"!!!!
Second - why would you keep any xi on ? do you really think i'm proud of an xi? HAHA - i wish i had a z8 alpina - then i wouldn't debadge it - i'd put neon around the freaking emblem!

Debadge it. i debadged mine, and never looked back. Basically, people debadge for different reasons, whether it be for a clean look, or to hide your model, who cares. Do as you wish. Most of the time the people who complain about debadged cars are 330 owners who, by keeping their badge on, sleep better at night knowing they are better than everyone else  :P
Don't get me wrong, there are also people who keep the badge on because they do in fact like how it looks. I myself prefer the cleaner look

When I see debadged coupes it look weird as if something were missing, maybe because the extra ci. but on sedans it looks right and proportional when debadged.

If i had a 323, 325 or a 328 i would debage.......
But i have a 330i so i must seperate my self from the rest
So my 330i badge stays on :woot: :str8pimpi

personally I don't get the debadging thing.. and doing that to an M3 makes even less sense. But hey to each his/her own.

As far as I can see - the BIG PRO of debadging is that you can always reapply the badge if you don't like the way it looks with it off. I'm gonna take a picture and then do a Photoshopped before and after to see what it looks like (can't believe I didn't think of that sooner) :hmm:

If someone can only recognise an M3 by the badge, it's not someone you want to be knowing ur car anyway!

OK - I did a PS-touchup and I still can't really tell if I like the De-Badge better. It might also be becasue it's a "Dead-Center" image - and not something you'd likely see darting around...but here it is for all to see.

Don't think I'm not looking into that. There are no OEM Clears for Facelifted Sedans because of D.O.T. Bull$hit - so I'm researching the best after markets.
I know DEPO is OEM for some other auto companies - but then I've heard those really don't fit well.....
GRRRRR.... Very frustrating (TRUST ME)!!!
But yes, agreed - the whole amber thing is a thorn in my side.

i debadged my 325i and love the look. looks sweet on a black car. gives it a stealthy look. if i had an M3 though i would definately leave the badges on. just somethin about showing off the ///M logo :) It took me a lil while to get up the courage to debadge my baby but after i did i was totally happy with it

I have to confess I am one of the few M3 owners it seems who have debadged. I look at it this way. People who are into cars will recognize it immediately for what it is... and it seems to cut down on the people who want to race me among those who can't tell the car without the badge. Besides, it's pretty much a minimal effort anyways... with 6 other M3 or ///M symbols on the car between the wheels and gills that come stock, it's very easy to recognize it for what it is as long as you know what to look for. It does make the back look so much cleaner though... I like it much better without the badge.

I just put OEM clears on my 2005 sedan. Got 'em from Bekkers, and they make a HUGE difference. Debadging next nice day I get!

Well, if you dont like it you could always re-apply it. Just try to get used to it in the next few days and if you can't then re-apply.

Just because I got used of seeing it all the time before. Just staring it, my mind says something missing. Oh well, I will get use to it sooner or later. I will leave it off as you said I can always put it back on. Nah!

Finally debadged, I guess a little over a week ago. I love it. Looks so much cleaner...reminds me of all the e46s I saw in Germany while I did ED.
BTW, I did it in the sun, on a cooler day, but it was still plenty warm. Used the dental floss like everyone says. Wiped the residue with my fingers mostly, and got the rest with a little Citrus cleaner and a cloth. Wiped it down, then waxed the area real quick. Took maybe 10 minutes.
