Just wondering if they're really all that... I'm looking to get 2 12s. Would that be too much? Should I just get one 13.5? Also, what amp setup would be best for running 2 of these? I was thinking of getting 2 JL 500/1 amps to run each sub. Suggestions please! Thanks!

I work for UPS and I loaded a W7 into a trailer. Most of the box was floating on top of another!.. I was like WTF??
Then I read the box and it said JL W7 and I was like dyam (dat mudafockin magnet is huge!) So i just flipped it upside down and everything was gravy
Now I just need to think of a way to take one home :D
Sorry.. Just had to share my story.. Anyway.. somebody help this man out!

Those things better sound better than any speaker you've ever heard because they are bank. I'd rather have w3's or w6's. Just can't justify the price of the w7's.

If you are going for SQ, I think one W7 will suffice. In terms of power, I think 500 watts per sub should be fine but that is as low as you should go. I have 1400 watts rms running one 12W7. The bass is definitely awesome, very deep and tight. I don't think two W7s will be necessay unless you really want to get LOUD. Plus don't forget the extra weight on the car for each additional W7 plus the box. Get the W7, it is definitely worth it.

I am running two S12L7 off of a PPI 2400 Amp and you can't beat the sound. I had the JLs but I sold them for the SoloBaric. The sound is much cleaner and sharper and they hit sooooo hard.

I've got an alpine head unit (don't buy anything else)
Xtant amps (look and sound great)
JL 12W3 subs (one pair-the box is small, price is reasonable, and they sound awesome-the W7 is very expensive and box is huge)

Solobarics kicks ass. My friend have 3 10s in his Ford Escort Cab.
He uses an old Phoenix Gold M-100. (My old amp)

I have 2 10w3's in my 330ci and 1 12w3 in my 325ci. I like the tens better. I have the 13w7 at work, but we dont have an amp powerful enough in the store that can push it! I'm waiting on the JL 1000/1 to arrive....

...heard a "Sunfire True Sub" for home theater use you would know why the W7 is the way to go. The SUnfire looks about the same design and runs a 2700watt amp in it. If the W7 performs half as well as my Sunfire it is definitly the SUB for my car.

is that sunfire loud and nasty or clean and tight like the w7? I bet the MTX RFL would take that sunfire out...the RFL will sound like a pos ghetto sub, but it thumps!

there is no way u can compare a sunfire to a w7. A sunfire is a subwoofer marvel with is flat diapraghm and passive radiator all squeezed in such a little cube with loads of power. Bob Carver is da man.

I'm not too crazy about the W7 ...It doesn't hit all ranges of the subwoofer bass

I bought a 10 w7 and a 500/1 JL amp. JL recommends that amp for the 10 inch w7. I am waiting on the sub to come in. But the box is made already. In time, I'll do custom install with fiberglass. I hope it sounds aight. I have a JBL 12 inch sub that they gave me as a temp, it sucks balls. later
