I came from bimmerforums.com, so I wondered why there were no subforums for every type of car here. It works out pretty well, but seperates a lot of the community. I think since so many ppl are upset by this M3 forum they might just make one for every e46.

i want a freedom of speech forum to avoid ass-hats calling us stupid for conveying our opinions. it seems once you utter something that some moron finds disagreeable, he'll say you're stupid.

This will just dilute the posts more and no one would be able to follow up on everything. Everyone is like a big family right now with just the showroom, general, and off-topic forums basically. Adding more would just divide us up. It's already becoming clear that as of late, the forums have been more divided up than ever. I thought the goal was to bring back that unity that was once here, not encourage more seperation.

Well, funny you should say that. Although I agree that some people are a bit harsh and hasty when replying to questions or comments...
Freedom of speech protects you in making comments and questions but it also protects those that think and say that you're stupid. Kinda works both ways.

People said the same thing when we added an OT forum. The same thing was said when we added the showroom.
Each and every time we have added a forum, people have said that it was going to break up the community, and it hasn't yet.
This isn't a "segregation" any more that we segregate people with wheel and tire questions to the wheel and tire forum, or FI questions to the FI forum.
The goal is to have logical sections of discussion so that E46Fanatics.com can provide high quality E46 content in an organized fashion.

What exactly IS the goal of adding this forum? No one on here seems to enjoy it. It makes sense to have an OT, but an M3 forum? www.m3forums.com
This is E46 Fanatics, not M3 Fanatics. Leave the forums be as it was before.

If you go on bimmerforums, it aside from its other forums, has 18 subforums for each style of BMW over the years. There are people that stay only on a particular few, including myself... why would I have any interest in a Z8 or e28 forum?
Enough subforums, and people will start to divide. e46fanatics doesn't have nearly enough at this point for this to happen though.
I've heard at a lot of meets many "M" owners like to seperate themselves from the rest of the cars and people, not sure if this has any relevency to the issue. :dunno:

i like this subforum. i agree it separates the "community" but big deal-this is a freakin internet forum-get over it. im tired of seeing threads that just show stock cars (even m3, to the haters...) so this subforum is just another way to organize fanatics so individuals can specifically browse what they are interested in.

Tim all I can see in your argument is pretty much it's just like the other informative's forums, so then what is the harm in creating a 323/328 forum and 325/330? Nothing, somthing fishy is going on here. I don't understand why despite all these people saying this is a terrible idea that you can turn a cold shoulder. I guess I Miss judged your character.

So, we should just continue to ignore the people who wanted it because there are some that do not?
There is nothing fishy going on here, it is simply another subdivision of information. The traffic on the site supports the division. There are over 2.4 million posts on this forum. Imagine if you were just looking to find out what other M3 owners had problems with their SMG and had to look through pages and pages of information about body kits for a 323/325/328/330. The M3 owner is no better than the 323/325/328/300 owner but one of the biggest goals of this site is to be an incredible resource for E46 owners. This aids in that effort, does it not?
As some people mentioned, they go to other sites for ///M3 content but now are excited about the opportunity to stay here and talk about and find information on their ///M3. I am sure they are going to continue to take part in general discussions as well. That is increasing the number of people who use the site regularly and ADDs to the community IMO.
Lets just give it a shot and see how things go. If the community start to go to hell for some odd reason, we can always go back to the way things were.

Well, I totally agree with Tim. 330, 325, 328, and 323 has usually the same problem. M3 is kinda different a little bit. This sub forum will absolutely help the M3 owner to get help faster and easier, because if we see in the general forum, there are tons of them and 3/4 of them are talking about 323-330. M3 owners are not trying to discriminate from other E46 owners, but they just need a better access for the communications. If you really hate this forum, just try not to read this forum, is there any harm for M3 owners to post a thread on this subdivision? Of course not!!

hello post boosters +1. haha
Since when are 325s, 318s 330s and m's considered races? they are models. Do you want to call the e46 mod's modelists rather than racists?
haha

I liked it better when we were all together. ALL E46's share over 80% of parts. We can learn a lot from each other, regardless of the model. Take my quad projectors for example. I did it to my M3, but it can be done to any almost E46(sorry facelift coupes!!!). We dont need to be model specific.

i agree with tim.. M cars r lil diff than other series. speacially when it comes to mechanical and tech stuff.. as he said.. SMG11 for example..something u will find in an M3 only..
nevertheless... i still  when i see those nicely moded 3 series in showroom section. so.. for our e46 fellas.
