It takes about 7-8 hours... we started Friday night about 8-12pm, then Saturday from noon to 9pm... but we stopped a lot to write things down and take pics for the DIY and smoke ciggies...

Amazing write up yet again. All those pics brought back some memories (good/bad) of when I installed my kit :)

Its already helped me confirm something I wasn't 100% sure of on my kit. You rock

Yeah, in a few of the pics, especially the one where I am mounting the compressor to the bracket, you can see how chewed up my hands are...

Ouch...

lol i noticed. Thats pretty much how my hands always ends up when i'm working on the car.

It was a biotch trying to get that little "L"shape intercooler bracket while laying on the floor......trying to get tools up there to tighten the nut without the stupid washer falling out lol

Great work as usual, MarvelPhx.

You might wanna proof page 1 of the DIY, though... Some of the later image links on the first page take you to inconvenient anchors (for instance, clicking on pic AE takes you to named position #D, making reading the article while clicking on pics a little hard).

Can you add more kit comparison information to your review? I'm sure we could all benefit from reading more about your decision making process. In particular, I'm curious why you went ESS instead of Technik (didn't wanna wait for software?).

Awesome write up.

I would say i have 2 major influences when I chose to boost. One was reading my330i.com and the other was speaking and chatting with Crispvx.

Thank you.

Fixed the anchors, thanks for the heads-up!

And I didn't do direct comparisons because the competititve kits out there keep changing, mostly for the better and that review would soon be out of date. I like to keep the website as accurate as possible. I went with ESS because I have had great luck with them, am amazed by their work and development attention, and believe you get what you pay for. Lowest price or biggest lucky hp dyno pull does not mean best system. I look a lot deeper than that.

Have you had a chance to dyno your car yet after the ESS install?

June 18th is our Dyno Day. I can't wait until I get my own dyno... and yes that day is coming...
