Too exhausted to write an elaborate report. In short, yes, this is the 12th track event with ASA at Big Willow. Nearly 3 hours of track time today!

And it's been a joy ride ever since the first event back in August 2002.

Three pictures. See how much rubber debris my Michelin PS2s picked up today? There were so much rubber debris on the tires that I felt the imbalance in handling on Turn 2 and Turn 8. Mind you, these debris are at least 1/8" thick. Front two corners of the car were oscillating way too much when cornering. That's when you know you have tracked too much. :P

These are the events since having the ASA SK1. Not a comprehensive list of my track career though. :shhh:

Awesome Vince. Did the tires heat up that much to absorb all that debris?

How about an ASA group track outing? :craig:

BTW, Anthony, did you get my email?

The debris on the tires look very dangerous!

xS3x: I did about 110 ~ 120 mph down the straight. I seriously think I am done with Big Willow. It gets a bit boring after the while. Go to Buttonwillow with me. That track is more technical and you will love it! I will drag you out to Buttonwillow! :P

technikpower.com: Yeah! I was expecting to see you and Zolt there! I take it that you folks will go out with me to the next event then? :P

ASAed330: Yes, tires were so heated up that they picked up the debris. I might had a similar experience at one of the summer CCA events but none of the tracks had huge sweepers like Big Willow. As for an ASA track outing, Anthony and I did talk about it. But we need to know how serious/sincere you ASA folks are in participating such an event. Booking a track runs into a few thousands. The problem is to get committment. I will bring this up to the TE boys and see if we can start to seriously plan something.

cbledsoe: You have to contact technikpower.com (who posted in this thread). Technik Engineering sells the ASA SK1 kit.

sublimey: Those debris were accumulated from a day's worth of tracking! :P Not from one session. Rubber debris were still soft on the tires. Can be dangerous if you don't handle the car well enough on the corners, especially for a high speed track like Big Willow. Since this is a non-CCA event there are a lot more race-prepped cars with slicks. Check out http://www.radicalwest.com. They arrived in a huge trailer with 2 storeys of race cars.

Vince, just curious. How long do you tires last? :craig:

Hey pple, thanks for the replies again!

I figure instead of having TE and myself organize an event solely for ASA owners, we might as well participate in other well-established and organized events. I am really glad that some of you are into joining me. Let's make it happen.

I am resting for the remaining days of May and June. My schedule for July through Sept:

July 2/3 Big Willow with Speedventures (http://www.speedventures.net/2005_Schedule.asp). (This is tentative if and only if you guys want to go. If not, I won't bother signing up :P ).

July 9/10 Buttonwillow with TCRA (http://www.touringcarclub.com/events/events_schedule.shtml).

Aug 26 Buttonwillow with Speedventures (http://www.speedventures.net/2005_Schedule.asp).

Sept 30, Oct 1/2 Buttonwillow with Speedventures (http://www.speedventures.net/2005_Schedule.asp).

If you have questions, I'd be happy to reply. Once we gather enough interest for the first event, I will set up a mailing list and give everyone some pointers and mental prep.

I had the PS2s since Nov 2003. So about 10 track events already. As you can still, they last very well.
