Hey, does anyone happen to know what a stock e46 M3 runs the 1/4th mile in? And what does a e46 M3 with a supercharger and nothing else runs the 1/4th mile in? I am just curious. Thanks
BTW, I am thinking about trading my 330ci for a 2002 M3, what color would you get? I am thinking of alpine white but I need some opinions, I know have steel grey but I think I want to change it up.

stock M3 = 13.2-13.3
SC'd M3 = around 12.4
( may vary from internal work i.e header, etc etc)

Thats what I was thinking, thats pretty fast esp. with the supercharger.

I didnt even think of that, for $8000 or more you think it would put you in the 11's or so.

You would think, but not gonna happen. I think it's more like $9K now, and that is uninstalled. Some of the magazine times I have seen give it more like high 12s. Either way I would love to get it, but I just can't justify $10K for about 100HP.

It really depends on traction as welll. With the numbers that it produces im assuming that traction is an issue.

Does it cost the same for the 330? :hmm:

I think its 9300.00 for the kit , and 12800.00 installed .
I was planning on doing it , but I dont know. :dunno:

You can hit 11's with the AA SC setup you just need to be able to have a good launch with a 1.7 60 foot you'll be in the 11's. DivXtreme has a 12.1 with a 1.86 60 foot with SMG.

I think 330 superchargers are around 6500 but you still gotta get it installed.

I'd get Laguna, really stands out and looks better than the Phoenix Yellow, at least imo.

I don't think you can get too aggressive with the boost on the M3 due to the high factory compression ratio. Not sure how tough the bottom end of the motor is, but you'd have to at least swap in some lower compression pistons to pump up the boost past several pounds. An additional 100HP is pretty impressive although it's rather expensive additional horsepower.

It would certainly be cheaper, but I don't think you could safely hit that motor with a large enough shot to exceed the power gains of the supercharger. Not to mention that I personally would never run NOS on a car like an M3 in the first place.

Remember the E46 M3 tuning games have just picked up. It takes awhile for testing and development for modifications such as supercharger kits to come out. The E36 M3's are just now seeing their full potential.
A SC E46 M3 can surely get into the 11's, its just not that easy.

First off dont listen to magazines. When the reviews came for the AA kit it was on the most basic and safest kit out. Not to mention now its a different supercharger. If you drove or got a ride in a SC M3 you would not be thinking about justifying 10g's. BTW it didnt cost me 10g's.

Yea man, you guys have no idea what you are talking about. Scott ran a 12.1 from a complete standstill with no launch, he cant control wheelspin with the smg.. The 6.5 psi kit on the 6 spd with some minor weight reduction can break 11's guarenteed, to make everyone a believer i'll be the first tohit mid 11's, guarenteed!

TAZA, how did u pay less for the Kit? did u order directly from AA or through a second party. Also my Father owns a repair shop and Auto Parts shop (deals mostly with OEM parts though) you think AA would give him a distributor discount?

Probably get dealer price. The kit is not 10g's.
