Hi everyone...a BMW enthusiast from Russia needs your help.

A couple of days ago Infinitas installed ASA SK1 kit on my 2004 330Ci w/SMG
The power gain is felt in all rpm ranges and everything seems to be working just fine. However, the one thing that concerns me the most is the SMG shifting. The shifts became slugish even in sport mode (I would say especially in sport mode). There is a considarable power loss when i shift from 1st to 2nd, when i shift to 3rd it ins't as bad but still isn't the way it should be working.
I've read many posts about the stress that S/C kits put on trannys and cocluded that the clutch in SMG tranny is fine for 320-340hp so upgrading a clutch in SMG is not neccessary since with Sk1 you get 320 hp (it's also very difficult to upgrade the SMG clutch without upsetting the finely tuned hydrolics).

My first guess would be that S/C software is not tuned propaly for SMG tranny. The other thing may be that SMG control unit doesn't know how to behave with additional horsepower. I don't know really know if SMG software can be reprogrammed.

Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem and how it can be fixed?

Later I want to post some videos of how the car behaves so you can have better idea on what is happening during shifting. Thanks and sorry for poor grammar ;)

Maybe that's not what I am getting here. Did you try it with DSC off? I have sc with steptronic and if one of the wheels is slipping a little bit just before shifting then I am getting strange sluggish/delayed shifting. Such effect dissapears with better tire grip(winter vs summer tires for example). I have ASC though. And I read it engages in 1 stage even if orange lamp on dash is not blinking.

Did Infinitas install it? or their local represetantive AlarmService or something? You should check with them first...

There is a possibility that your clutch is slipping. Also do you have software or just ASA tronic? If you do not have software then the likely hood is that the delay is in the actual tuninng of the vehicle. My car had similar problems until Technik Engineering installed their SC software. The car absolutely flawless now! :pimpin:

SMGII the clutch is easily interchangeable. Many people have done it, it does not screw up any of the hydrolics. I dont know if its the same for the SMG but it should be. You should get a stronger clutch.

I'm pretty sure they installed the ASA software... I'll double check everything when I go to them after 1000 km (which is pretty soon)
It actually feels like the clutch is slipping when I reach higher rpms...not a very pleasant thing...
