Hi everyone...a BMW enthusiast from Russia needs your help.
A couple of days ago Infinitas installed ASA SK1 kit on my 2004 330Ci w/SMG
The power gain is felt in all rpm ranges and everything seems to be working just fine. However, the one thing that concerns me the most is the SMG shifting. The shifts became slugish even in sport mode (I would say especially in sport mode). There is a considarable power loss when i shift from 1st to 2nd, when i shift to 3rd it ins't as bad but still isn't the way it should be working.
I've read many posts about the stress that S/C kits put on trannys and cocluded that the clutch in SMG tranny is fine for 320-340hp so upgrading a clutch in SMG is not neccessary since with Sk1 you get 320 hp (it's also very difficult to upgrade the SMG clutch without upsetting the finely tuned hydrolics).
My first guess would be that S/C software is not tuned propaly for SMG tranny. The other thing may be that SMG control unit doesn't know how to behave with additional horsepower. I don't know really know if SMG software can be reprogrammed.
Does anyone have any ideas on what might be the problem and how it can be fixed?
Later I want to post some videos of how the car behaves so you can have better idea on what is happening during shifting. Thanks and sorry for poor grammar ;)
