NOTE: THIS IS NOT A DRAG RACE EVENT. THIS IS NOT A SHOW EVENT.

This is quite an awkward post. Firstly, it's a high performance track event. Secondly, it's also for ASA crew. But since I posted most of my track reports here, instead of posting on the motorsports forum, here it is.

We've about a month to the next track event. I have been assigned the task of getting people together.

I am recommending the Speedventures event on July 2nd of 2005. It's a Saturday. The event registration is here: http://www.speedventures.com/7-2-2005_event.asp. You have to pre-register for the event. Showing up at the day of the event is not recommended.

Willow Springs is about 1.5 hrs north east of LA.

It appears to me that I have inspired a number of ASA owners to track their supercars. Thanks to all who have read the reports. Also, before Technik Engineering and myself start to organize our own independent track event, we would very much like to see just how committed you folks are to a track event. Not to mention that, now you have the hardware, this is the chance to try it at the tracks.

After contemplating Buttonwillow and Willow Springs, I have decided the latter. I have gathered from a number of experienced track drivers that Big Willow should be more fun for first-timers. But don't be deceived by the high speed track. It can be costly (trust me, I know). We will try out Buttonwillow next time.

However, my attendence is pending on how many people are going to sign up for this event. Big Willow really isn't my favorite track of all time. The sole purpose is to hang out with the ASA crew and share some REAL driving tips on the track. If there are enough ASA crew signing up for this event, I can convince the boys from Technik Engineering to show up.

In the coming weeks, I will post notes about driving on the track. For now, if you have questions, please PM me or post here.

Well, no worries. I did think about an event during March through May. But everyone's busy with work/school. That didn't work out. So I plan something in summer and everyone's going away. :tsk:

Anyway, I love Thill. Only draw back is driving there. Unless I can get someone to transport my car. Driving almost 9 hours for a day at THill isn't worth it really. IMO, a track event at Thill has to be at least 2 days. I think Buttonwillow is still a better for first-timer.
