Pretty much any aftermarket stereo that has an infrared remote can be used in conjunction with an adaptor. The adaptor most commonly used is an SWIX, made by PAC. Any car stereo shop should carry it.

Just keep your head unit and upgrade everything else. That way you can keep your steering wheel controls and have good sound. There's tons of writeups on this, just search.

I used the Audio Control LC6 and it is pretty decent. It is small and takes the line inputs and gives you front, rear and subwoofer rca outputs. I am running MB quarts in the front and some coaxials in the rear. I also have a 12" in the trunk. The sound is pretty decent unless you are really into SQ. It is way better than the factory sound.

upgrade the rest (subs, speakers, amps)
