I know the the M5 and M6 are new to the market and it will be a while before anyone develops anything big with them, but i was wondering if any company such as VF, AA, ESS, Tecknik are thinking about creating an SC kit for them.

Personally, I think I would take an M5 SC over almost any car out there right now. Just think of the potential your already starting out with 500HP from a V10 throw a SC and you can easily get 650-750HP

Someone please do this quick.

I think Dinan could be one of the first if BMW will let them. But I doubt they will just b/c the M division is all about NA.

not at whole lot of room when you squeeze a V10 in there.

Theres not a whole lot of room in our engine bays either but ppl manage to squeeze a s/c in there...

I think the compression ratio is 12.5:1, id like to see someone try and SC that :lmao:

From a technical standpoint, the new V10 is not capable of forced induction...at least not on pump fuel. Any talk of forced induction would require mandatory piston swap to lower compression, otherwise, you would barely be able to get 2-3psi in that motor, which would be a total waste.

Will there be any ECU tuning, Cold Air Intake, and other N/A mods available for those cars.

Such as larger throttle body, Cams, etc.....

Yes, I imagine there will be an entire host of N/A mods for the V10.

how come Dinan sells superchargers for both the M3 and the M5 then?

I didnt know they did....

BMW doesnt have anysay what Dinan can and cant do to their cars.

I wasnt sure. They're like the only "BMW Approved" tuner....so I didnt know if they had some special agreement.

This engine had a huge potential, I saw on the Frankfurt IAA 2005 that G-Power increase displacement to 5.7 and get 650 HP !!!!! add a Supercharger or a turbocharger then no Enzo's, no Veyron's, no Brabus Rocket... damn this is scaring!

im sure theres alot of store up power in the exhaust, that thing sounds like a balloon when you squeeze the open end just hard enough to let a little air out.
Im thinkin 15hp easy :dunno:

Um doesn't the V10 in these cars have individual throttle bodies for each pistion? wouldn't that require a complete remake of the intake side of the engine?

its 500 hp what more do you need? It also sounds incredible in the top gear video when he actually drives the car at the end.

yes. it would. just like the current E46 M3 supercharger kits come with.

The trick will be the Valvetronic design. It doesn't make vacuum... there is no throttle body. Programming the software is going to be a major undertaking, but yes, there will be boost for them.

Huh? You mean the engine is not making a vacuum?

how is it possible for an engine to make no pressure?

Vacuum or Boost pressure in the manifold is what regulates maintaining boost levels. On my E46, for example, when I lift off the accelerator pedal it closes the butterfly valve in the throttle body. The engine keeps trying to suck in air against the closed plate, this creates vacuum. This vacuum pulls the bypass valve open and releases the boost that just slammed into the closed throttle valve.

The Valvetronics use the valves themselves as the throttles; there is no throttle body or plate. The only vacuum is in the cylinder itself where the piston is pulling on the faces of the closed intake valves. Manifold pressure is no longer a viable factor for controlling boost. It makes things a whole lot trickier, but it can be done.

The S65 V10 does not have VT, it uses traditional trumpets with butterflys. BMW Motorsport does not employ VT due to it's high-RPM limitations.

I totally stand corrected... I am thinking of the E90, 545, 745, etc engines. I do apologize, those use Valvetronic, the V10 does not. Thank you Samir.

i can understand supercharging 325 or 330, but come on the V10 powered m5 and m6?????
why would u change something that is already perfect
