I went to my muffler shop today, which did my custom dual all the way exhaust with a high flow catalytic which replaced the "1st Resonator" or "Cat" that they took off last week.

I came back, and told em that I want the high flow cat off.. cause that thing replaces my old "cat" which everybody here says the 1st resonator. So which means, I want my 1st resonator off.

But from what i've gathered here in the forum, u guys say that the cat in E46s are built into the headers? The guys at the shop told me those are the Precats... and the cat is actually the 1st reso.

Im confused now, I just want a confirmation here, TIA

lol, yea precats come after the cats :spit: their are 2 cats in the e46, both built into the headers, one cat for 3 cylinders the other cat for the other 3, their are 2 resantors and a mufler in the exhaust system.
