Due to the specifics of my installation, I need to source two 60mm (plain) idler pulleys because the standard 70mm idler pulleys are just a bit too big and are allowing the belt to rub. (The width of the pulley and the mounting hole diameter are unchanged.) Does anybody out there know of a source (I've tried numerous web searches but haven't come up with anything useful)? :hmm:

Rub what? The S/C bracket? Make sure the S/C is lined up properly...

Hmm... I did my own install and didn't run into that problem. If it is rubbing on the sc bracket... make sure you are using the spacers suplied to mount behind it.

FYI: This isn't a standard ASA kit. It's an ESS/ASA kit modified to fit an X3. This is why it's confusing.

I've been in convo with Tony about his X3 and it is amazing the changes in the engine bay between the X3 and E46 install.

... I have a step/auto trans and its the coolant hose for the auto that gets in the way. The standard 70mm idler pulley cannot be installed on the furthest right mounting point because of the coolant hose going into the expansaon tank. When mounted on the next mounting point over, the belt rubs against itself and this causes the belt to move out of alignment.
I've tracked down a 55mm idler pulley which should hopefully do the trick. If anybody runs into the same issue it's BMW part # 11 31 1 721 264.
