But it sure is an improvement over Pimp My Ride.
I wish they said what his stock exhaust was because it was certainly aftermarket. And how about what they did with the exhaust. Straigh pipes or did they go off the sides like in the video game. Granted their budget was 17k but they could have done alot more instead of putting vinyl all over the frickin place. Headers? Race clutch? Sways? GAUGES?!?!? I couldn't believe that car had no gauges considering it now is blown and running an AEM system.

Why would it run an AEM ECU management system if it has the AA Supercharger kit?

i still would take the car in a heartbeat, but yeah, i wish they would have shown more of the car, theres a pic of the car in the OT section

They decided to run the AEM ECU because they got rid of the E46 Intake Manifold, and put in one from the E36 ///M car. They did this so they could get rid of the drive-by-wire from the E46, in lieu of a standard throttle cable. This also allows them to use a wider throttle body than is possible with the E46...
Pretty cool show. I didn't care for the head guy that much, but it was neat to watch.

The exhaust on it looked a lot like the UUC TSE3. I love how the host kept calling it a 330i even though it was a 2 door :lmao:
JCz04Bimmer
11-15-2005, 01:15 AM
Not the TSE3. Tips were way too thin and the welding way too sloppy. Kind of looked like a shop-made exhaust with dual individual cans on the end.

the tranny and intake maniforld swap was preety nutts, and swapping the computer...taht stuff was cool, but when i saw it with the elephant ears I almost crapped my pants...LOL
it was cool to see manu and ryan from DPE showing their wheels though! Big ups to DPE!!!

I wonder if a computer swap is necessary if you're going with the E36 manifold swap.

The only cool part of that show was seeing Manu and Ryan from DPE. That's about it. All those people are tools. Especially that head guy and the useless chick.
Luis, I thought the same thing when they brought in that group of guys to do the bodywork. I was like, "they look like some mexican gang".

Cool mods. Crappy show. There's no way they did all that with a $18K budget (or whateve it was). Monster Garage meets Revenge of the Nerds.

I would say that the majority of those mods were donated for advertising on the show. I can't believe Turner gave them a new $4000 LSD for the project. That's pretty impressive right there.
I also can't believe that they put 20" wheels on that thing. ...and it's supposed to be a track car?!?!?! :loco:

yea i think that most of the parts are donated from various vendors. too bad they lied to the guy and told him that he got the authentic Flossman kit.

yeah, I noticed that they had to hack it all up to make it fit the guys car. It was pretty apparent that there was a ton of work needed to make it fit right. I thought to myself? That can't be an authentic kit... So, it wasn't from you guys after all? That's lame-o. But I guess you guys get free publicity out of it, right?
Y'know, if you wanted to, maybe you could sue them for saying it was an authentic flossman kit, when it clearly wasn't... :dunno:

first of all to S4izzle. they never said it was an authentic flossman kit...they said it was a GTR kit from gofastparts.com or whatever. and to TColville...it wasn't an ACS wing it was the OEM Clubsport wing....and to BimGrowl...i thought the same thing...track car? with 20s? with a HUGE front braking bias? they hardly did anything...evosport just did all the engine work. and some janky bodyshop did all the bodywork while "jack mac" trimmed the body pieces himself after the wheels were installed. so halfassed.
