The Luminos FireLight™ is capable of illuminating objects at over 1500ft away, using a proprietary compact HID technology found nowhere else.

The sharp contrast of the extra cool 6000K light from the full sized HID capsule creates a powerful, contrasting light at night or even day time. The narrowly focused beam doesn't spread like other high power flashlights, and is only 2' in diameter at 1000ft, producing more lumen per watt than any incandescent bulb on the market.

The fully integrated and rechargeable lithium ion battery (from SONY) delivers power almost immediately with a small 10 second startup time and 20 seconds to 100% illumination. Unlike other flashlights that use standard batteries and have to be recharged for hours and lost only a short time, the Luminos FireLight™ works for up to 2 hours continuously on a charge and takes only 60 minutes to fully recharge. Lithium ion batteries hold their charge longer than alkaline or metal hydride batteries, allowing the Luminos FireLight™ to be used immediately even after prolonged storage.

The design criteria for this light are based the needs of law enforcement, border patrol, fire departments, marine/coast guard, and other public and private security organizations. However, the needs of the average person are not overlooked - whether you're camping, hiking, exploring, or even if you are in an emergency situation - the Luminos FireLight™ ideal for all recreational use.

The ruggedly powerful aluminum casing is sturdy and touch, but not heavy. The rubberized end caps and overall strength of the headlight construction means that even if dropped or mishandled, you'll likely receive many years of uninterrupted use. The easy to handle and heuristically ideal size of the flashlight allows it to be used in self defense, whether shining the powerful light into an attacker's eyes, deflecting any blows, or as an aggressive self-defense weapon.

Application(Please consult your owner's manual for your application fitment type):

Security, Self-Defense, Personal Recreational, Public Safety, Many More...

Engineering Detail:

Dimensions: Ø 2.25 in. Hmmm... not an E46 product... but still interesting.
Then again, there's a guy on the forum selling tortilla chips....
I was looking for a flashlight too.
Only thing is that it's a bit pricey for a flashlight and it doesn't have like an extra mini flashlight like those maglite kits.

Compare it to the cost of other HID flashlights in the handheld variety on the market.

Here's a HID flashlight from Surefire that's brighter, although I'm sure the one from Umnitza is a lot cheaper:
http://www.surefire.com/surefire/content/hellfire_large.jpg
The HellFire target illuminator is designed for use on .50 caliber machine guns :vinmac:, and can also be used as a vehicle-mounted or hand-held spotlight (vehicle mounting hardware sold separately). Its shock isolated 35W HID lamp has an output of approximately 3500 lumens, and is powered by either the included cigarette lighter/power plug adapter, or two 5590 military batteries. The machine gun operator can select between momentary and constant-on activation by using an included hand grip which replaces the trigger grip on the machine gun handle. Because of its small size (8 inches) and light weight (10 lbs.) HellFire also can be used as a portable, hand-held light by detaching it from the included mounting sleeve and using the integrated carry handle. HellFire’s runtime when used this way (and powered by two 5590 batteries) is approximately 8 hours. HellFire’s body is built from an aluminum alloy with a hard-anodized MIL-A-8625 type III finish. A 5mm thick multi-coated Pyrex® window protects the HID lamp, and an amber filter on a pivoting mount protects the window during severe weather or while in storage. HellFire’s aluminum comes in a hard-shell storage case that is weatherproof and lockable.
* Power source 12V DC: Auto battery (adaptor included) or two 5590 military batteries
* Runtime: Auto battery: continuous; 5590 batteries: 8 hours
* Mount: HellFire slides onto T-slot mount, which attaches to machine gun sleeve. Picatinny rail also incorporated into mount.
* Length: 8” (body and bezel)
* Weight: 10 lbs. (light and mount combined)
* Bezel diameter: 4.1”
* Finish: Hand anodized “NL” gray MIL-A-8625 type III, class 2
* Water Resistant: O-ring seals and rubber gaskets at critical mechanical mating surfaces

You're absolutely right.
But "Brightest Handheld - MagLite sized - Thine Profile Flashlight" didn't fit on the title bar :D
In all seriousness, in the class that this particular flashlight plays in, it's at least 5X brighter than anything else.

I'm with you on that one.
I just want a mini one to store in my glove compartment cause the oem bmw one is weak sauce and one so I could use to manuever around my house at night (sometimes, i can't find the lightswitch in the dark lol).
Don't really need a flashlight to go stop crime vigilante style or something.

The Arco x990 is rated at 3200 lumens (i.e., 7,000,000 candlepower).

And is unreliable, overly heavy, cumbersome to use, and has been around for longer than the one we're carrying.
For the size, quality, wattage 24W, and ergonomics this is the brightest flashlight out there.

Same factory makes them.
There are a LOT of technical differences between ours and this that go beyond the visual aspects of the light.
That light does not produce the same claimed output as this one. Side by side, this one produces a little more light output.
We've done the research, but you're welcome to continue to do your own.

Also, you should include some red light filters. Sounds like this would be excellent for military applications.

So it has to "warm up"?
Lets say I see someone skipping fences in my back yard, I have to wait for it to warm up?

We are working on that. Very good idea.
emthree - the brightness of the light even while it's warming up is just like any other flashlight, by 10 seconds it's 50% bright. Think about how you use flashlights and you'll realize this is not an issue.
Kilronan, I'll check into that for you.

Yeah, red light filters are crucial for military use. Make map reading easier at night since military maps are red light readable.
Yes, rail mounts for the picatiny rail system on the M4/M16 is a must. Also, a remote trigger option is also important such as a wired button.
I think that if you can do that, it would be very useful.
If you want, you can PM me and I can see if I can link you up with someone that might purchase these for military use.

The Luminos FireLight is actually a "AELight". Why are you renaming the flashlight?. The trademark name for this flashlight is PowerLight. I wonder what AELight would say if they see this thread.
