Hi guys~

We just received a shipment of M3 bumpers for E46 coupe and sedan alone with the new CSL V2 bumper for both coupe and sedan as well. These are not made from fiber glass, fiberglass/plastic, abs plastic but instead, they are made by using OEM material Polypropylene (P.P.)

(P.P.) - Such material provides good impact resistance and structural rigidity. It is unaffected by any solvent at room temperatures. It has excellent insulating properties and is extremely lightweight. Its high fatigue strength makes it a top choice under cyclic loading conditions.

~Special first shipment pricing~ (Limited Quantity Apply)
E46 M3 bumper with foglights for 3 Series, 2&4 doors, Retail $535,
(Special $399)
E46 CSL V2 with quad foglights and CSL CF splitter, Retail $635,
(Special $499)

Ok, here is a question, if this bumper is a direct copy of an E46 M3 front bumper, does it require the same modifications to make it fit a non-M E46, or will it bolt straight on?

The bumper fits just like your stock bumper and I will post more picture once the car is done with everything. Remember, these bumpers are designed to fit directly without any additional labor, hardware and it lines up with the body. The material we used is called Polypropylene (P.P), same material found in OE bumper. These are not FRP, FG, which known to be pain in the ass to install and this is lighter than ABS plastic I believed. :)

I'll buy the CSL tomorrow if you can answer a couple of questions.
1. Can the two center fog lights be removed
2. If so, can you take a quick picture with the two center lights removed, but the outside pair installed?

I know that's a big request for a busy man. Maybe question #2 will be answered tomorrow when you post the additional pics.

Well, yeah. I didnt word the question well enough. Basically I want to know if they will look good without the two center lights. I'm mainly thinking about the edges. Will it look out of place with them missing or will they look fine with just the holes. Of course I could always get the holes filled at a body shop I'm sure.

Nice bumper ken330i! How do you remove the foglights? It doesnt appear to have a screw like the foglights on the M-tech I bumpers.

remove the splitters and you should have enough space to stick your hand inside to remove the nuts by hand. splitters are mounted by 2 screws at the bottom. you can use glue or double sided tape, but I dont want since I might be taking off foglights anytime for differ look. any questions, please ask.

Thanks for the response. Does the bumper sit lower than the stock M-tech?

no prob. i m glad to be helpful. i thought i will never come back to mod my car, but this bumper is very unique. i love the cf splitters look so much. i was thinking of the m3 bumper with splitter, but too many of them out there. i moved my gut forward to take an xtra step for this and i ended up happy.

it sits 1"-2" lower, could be 1.5" or so. that's what i really want. if i drop 1 more inch or so, it would look sick. i m thinking of getting some rims and coils later on. it's out of my budget for now. any questions, pls ask. i will be very honest with you.

be honest with you, i was so worried about how it will look on my car. i was there when they were installing it. after they mount it onto my car, i was like...ooo..not too bad..very different...still not used to it, but after a while, man, it does make a big difference. in person, it looks better.

i haven't had time to drive my car since i last took back from the shop. i had tried some drive way lips in a very very slow speed and it's fine. it's only like 2" lower than the stock mtech 1, i think. it's sitting in my garage while it's raining outside. i stare at it every once in a while just to see if that's the look i like, so funny.

I'm worried about that too. Now that ken330i says it sits 1-1.5" lower, I may have issues getting through speedbumps and dips around my neighborhood. It's bad enough I scrap the bottom of my car, I would also have to worry about the bumper. :bawling:

how low is your dropped compare to stock? if you drive slowly diagonally, you should be fine. my rieger lip was 3" lower with dropped and it was a pain to go thru the driveway. this bumper should be fine, i think.

It is dropped 1.5" from the stock sport package height. Comes out to a little less than 1 finger gap.

ken330i
01-02-2006, 09:07 PM
i just checked with my 6" ruler. it's 99% same height as the sport stock side skirt on my 330i mtech 1, about 5.5"-6" off ground. i wish it's 1" lower to make it more aggressive.

it should look meaner if mod it correctly

with your 1.5" already dropped height, and with this bumper, it should be 4.5" off ground. if you pass any drive ways or speed bumps with slow speed and a bit sideway, you should be fine. this bumper is not fiber glass, it's like the oem material which it is flexible based on my knowledge.

The front of my sides are 4 inches off the ground and the bottom of the front bumper is alittle over 5. So you are probably right its about a 1.5 lower than stock. If it the same as your sides that would put me at 4 inches from the ground in the front I guess?

if u can live with your car's height, i m sure this bumper is pretty much the same. it doesn't matter what bumper you get, with your drop, you need to slow down at speed bumps and inclines, don't you agree?

I hope you made the choice you won't regret. You will like this bumper cuz it's very unique among others like m3 bumpers. You can always get the rims later. It's better to do a bit more research on which type of rims you like. My last choice was HM2 and I loved it. I am still waiting and seeing which rims I want as of now. If there's a staggered LM, I might get it.

I will post more pics as soon as my cf grills and smoked corners are here.

1. you are correct
2. you are correct
3. you are again correct

the problem is because the car had an accident prior to installing the bumper. Also the owner chose his own shop and went on vacation, so he could not inspect the finished product or gave input to the shop on how to properly install the bumper. It can all be corrected with another visit to the shop if Charz finds the time to take care of the situation.

Pics will be poster ASAP just waiting on the M3 mirrors i just dropped off the eyelids and bumper this morning my plan is to drop off the mirrors when i get them and maybe in the same day they could throw it all together. :) Hmmmmmm do i just get the fuse at the dealer?

Thanks.

no prob. if u have any questions, let me know. show us some pics asap. i love to see another csl v2 bumper. becareful with the quad fogs. the original fog light fuse can't hold that much current. you might need to upgrade it to 30 amp.

GT Werks: Wow this is awsome, I really want one too. Is it even possible to ship an m3 bumper to Norway? Or will it be too expencive? What's the prize on the bumper?

the bumper is $399, but shipping to Norway would probably cost a lot more.

do you have pics of the csl v2 bumper on a black m3?

wow! it's going to be a whole new look

you can get the fuse at any auto supply store like kragen. i need to get some for myself cuz mine burned out yesterday ( it was 15 amp). i figure that 4 fogs should be double the current as compare to the stock. i will give it a try and see.

I'm trying to find out how I can find out how much the shipping cost will be to Norway (north to GB, next to sweeden)..

What will the original prize on the bumper be in the future?

nice! keep us updated.

hope you are feeling better by now. i know the feeling of, "unpatiently awaiting..."

i will keep you posted with the fuse. if i can keep the fogs on for like 2 hrs or so, it should be fine. i worry, but i look the quad fogs look at night; they are so cool and bright as well.

btw, thanks for you compliment on my sig. i was just playing around with ps right before i went to bed :)

Now I'm in the process of ordering one too. The totall prize will be about $900 for me though with taxes and shipping to norway.

What does a new origninal M3 bumper cost in the US anyway? In norway I think it would probably be around $1500 + paint job, but I really don't know for sure.

no prob.

i bought some 30 amp fuses from autozone yesterday. i tried one of them out and it seemed to work for 5 mins so far. i dont have much time lately since i m busy with work. i will update you on it.

btw, the bulbs are changeable. also, if you dont like the quad fogs, u can take a pair off and just leave 2. i haven't tried that out before, but i will when i have the time.

Is it possible to have the CSL V2 (splitter) on a coupe? I saw a gray one in this forum (sedan) and another gray one (coupe char's car). Was wondering if the sedan's style would fit perfectly on a coupe. GT please pm me the cost of that including paint and installation. Thank you.

Whats the diff with a OEM bumper with hamman ducts molded, just add some splitters.

That looks gh3y.

Carry on.

BoostedBoogie
01-15-2006, 03:01 AM
i don't even think they look like hamann ducts, looks different. whoever made the molds should definitely consider making the CSL bumper w/ sedan fitment.

the ducts are like the inner part of the hamann duct copied over to the other half of the duct because they're all the same-sized foglight.

well it's why everyone goes w/ the one hole version. i mean it's good this bumper is different and change is nice, but it looks too much like an 'off-road use only' bumper.
