Mike,
Unforunately, I will have to frown on this. You know how I feel about doing this kind of driving on a public road or highway. Remember this is the holiday season. Families are traveling on the highway and it's just not cool do drive like that on the highway.
What ever happened to the desire to take it to the track, ie drag strip or WS? You had fun at WS the last time. Bring back that enthusiasm. I hate to see you let that go.

:werd: I said it in the other thread, but your car's too nice for the junkyard, and think of the people that love you next time you feel the urge to prove yourself... The people that race you don't care if you live or die.
...and most importantly think of the other people in the world who have people that love THEM.
Otherwise, NICE KILLS!

That was a 0-60 run, which is a useless metric for comparison...too many non-performance related variables to take into account for such a short sprint, hence the results were misleading before. Given enough room to run and more gears to run through, the results are obviously much different. I also agree he should run a SC M3 now...I think the results will surprise people.

Lets not get too ahead of ourselves here..Yes Mikes car is very nice and he gets the credit he deserves and the nice kills on the M3's:thumbup: I know dyno numbers arent the best way to determine a car's power but neither of us have done the 1/4mile. His car's best dyno which was given from Mike himself recorded 347rwhp and 303rwtq. He recorded the hp mrating at 6400rpm's. Now my last dyno done at GRC recorded 458rwhp and 327rwtq.(both done on a 248 dyno Jet) There is no way that he can make up 111rwhp and 24rwtq. I dont care what u say or try to explain. I made 350rwhp at just over 5500rpm's where he is at 320rwhp. There is a 30whp difference right there. And at his max hp rating at 6400 at 347whp i am at just about 400whp which is a difference of 50whp. Then i continue to pull hard all the way to 7500rpm's or up to 7800(while he shifts) if i wanted too. The SC M3 just has too many advantages over a SC 330 to begin with, its not really fair to compare. But hey if he wants to race Taz like mentioned in a post or 2 above that should be a fun video. I mean they live right next to each other.

Easy cowboy, I didn't say Mike's car would beat a blown M3, all I said was "people would be surprised". What does that mean? It means that all those who say a Stage 1 SC M3 would walk Mike, like he walked a stock M3 are IMO wrong. He will get beat, but not by as much as everyone thinks.

I didnt mean that in any bad way what so ever. So hopefully you didnt take it that way. Im sure people would be surprised. I was for one. After i saw the first video Mike vs the M3's i was like its a tad faster. Then on the freeway the SC really kiks in, as i thought it would cuz i know how mine works too. Then i knew his car was running right because that is what a car with 347whp should do against a car with 275whp. Thats only a difference of 73whp, im just saying imagine a difference of 111whp. A stage 1 i have no idea i think they are rated at 375-380rwhp. I think what would happen would be the same as the BHS car vs the stage II. BHS had a 9k redline though and 350rwhp. I just dont know. But congrats for the fine work done on Mike's car. It is the fastest 330 i have ever seen. Have a good New Years...

Not at all, just seems people are way too sensitive with this SC 330 vs. M3 debate. I own both cars, so I have an unbiased view. I also have a lot of experience with the M54 3.0 and know it's a highly capable powerplant...just requires some massaging given the factory handicaps (restrictive manifolds, weak cams, tiny exhaust ports, etc.).
A stage 1 i have no idea i think they are rated at 375-380rwhp. I think what would happen would be the same as the BHS car vs the stage II.
I don't recall how that race ended up, but my point was simply to dispute the claim that Mike would get walked by 10-15 car lengths by a blown M3 (as some have stated). Of course it depends on the setup, but I would argue that a basic Stage 1 (5.5psi, 365WHP/277WTQ*), or even basic Stage 2 (7.5psi, ~ 400WHP/290WTQ*) would not have such an easy time with Mike's Stage 3+ setup (347WHP/304WTQ), given his torque advantage. Those cars running, Stage 2+, NOx and other mods putting down over 450+WHP are of course a different story (I'm not referring to those cars).

U have a SC 330, is your M3 SC too? Yeah i think a stage 1 SC against Mike would be a good race to watch. Stage 2 there are alot of different numbers that have been put out. On pump gas i put out 436whp/314wtq with a 7400 redline. Now i put out 458whp/327wtq on a 7800 redline.(done on race gas). And i just have the basic stage 2 nothing else. Stage 2+ well Teso puts down 486whp with that and well Jerry is on Stage III right now so thats just not fair.haha. You guys coming out with cams for a SC M3 yet? I hope so because im still going back and forth about getting rid of my MAM and going with stage III.

stage 2AA m3 would walk the dog on mikes car, mikes car is fauckin fast ,prolly fastest supercharged 330 ive seen, looks weet to by the way , but to say that he would fair up good against a stage 2 aaM , is kinda how should i put it........farfetched.

U have a SC 330, is your M3 SC too?
Yes, but we have not tuned it yet. Still have MS45 to finish up before we finish the M3 project.
Stage 2 there are alot of different numbers that have been put out. On pump gas i put out 436whp/314wtq with a 7400 redline. Now i put out 458whp/327wtq on a 7800 redline.(done on race gas). And i just have the basic stage 2 nothing else.
I'm going off manufacturer (AA) specs, which lists the 5.5# kit @ 365WHP/277WTQ and 7.5# kit at roughly 400WHP/290WTQ. So based on those numbers, a Stage 3+ 330 wouldn't get walked "like a dog" as everyone seems to think. If there are huge discrepancies between these figures on other cars, then it sounds like those cars are running more boost than the advertised 7.5psi. You can't put down ~ 370WHP @ 5.5psi and gain 60-80WHP with 2+psi. Something else is going on. Either way, my point is not to dispute power figures, simply to point out that given the advertised specs, a Stage 1/2 M3 vs. Stage 3+ 330 wouldn't have the same results as a Stage 3+ 330 vs. Stock M3. It would be much closer than that.
You guys coming out with cams for a SC M3 yet? I hope so because im still going back and forth about getting rid of my MAM and going with stage III.
Yes, due out once the M3 kit is finalized (February).

Samir you know very well how much Hp a stage 1 AA SC M3 puts out on a dynojet. You recall my car creating 385rwhp and it was on old messed up software, cracked headers etc... The numbers you quoted from AA are on a Mustang Dyno unlike Mike's.
Mike's car is very fast, fastest ive seen of the E46 330's.

No, I'm quoting Dynojet figures taken off AA's site (Stage 1 365WHP/277WTQ):
http://www.aatuning.com/dyno/dynoplot/e46m3dynojet.jpg
Given that, the comparison between Mike's car is valid, since his numbers are on a Dynojet as well. You are correct about the Stage 2 numbers off AA's site being Mustang (387WHP/284WTQ), but I adjusted those to compensate, which is why I bumped them to ~ 400WHP/290WTQ.

Vik, I didn't use your car as an example out of respect because I know how you feel about your car. You put down 385WHP @ 7800RPM with well over 5.5psi of boost. The fueling was spot on at 12:1, so I'm not sure what was messed up about the software. Either way, this is going off topic again. I'm using valid manufacturer specs to debate this point about the Stage 3+ 3.0 setup vs. Stage 1/2 3.2 setup.
If you want to see Mike's plot vs. your old setup, click the link (it supports what I'm saying). From a roll, Mike has the low/mid-end advantage, while the M3 has the top-end advantage. In a race, I feel this would level out and the M3 would only win marginally...not by 10-15 cars and surely not "walked like a dog". That's all I'm trying to say.

Samir thanks for the graph. I was happy to see it, as i lost my graph and forgot it. Couple things though. The old software just plained sucked compared to the new one. That was a stage 1 kit maing 6.5psi maybe peaking at 7psi. I also realized i had cracked headers and was losing alot of TQ. Im now making about 7.5 - 8psi with much better software and fixed parts. A Stage II M3 will be about 440rwhp and 320rwtq. Im going to be testing a new kit for AA and will be running about 9-10psi soon. I want close to 500rwhp on a stock engine.
I completely commend you on the work done on Mike's car. It has gone very well.
Soon enough i want to build the engine and try something crazy. Alot of work is in store, only problem is tuning....
